In the church of St. Mary in Wittstock, Germany. The sculpture dates to circa 1400.
The church itself is a Gothic brick hall church (in German, this style is known as Backsteingotik and the church design as a Hallenkirche) built between the middle of the 13th century and the end of the 15th.
Alaska's Virgin Creek falls has limited ways to capture it. It was a treacherous slippery drop to reach this level of the falls for this perspective. It would have been destructive to get any closer so glad to get this.
"Virgin Creek Falls: The nicest little waterfall hike in Alaska.
Hikes in Alaska don’t come any sweeter than Virgin Creek Falls. The falls are small but beautiful, and they generate a respectable roar as they come shooting into a misty, almost tropical-feeling grotto." hikingalaska.net

A small falls near Girdwood Alaska. Loved the rainforest that surrounded it. Pure enchantment.

Hypopyrrhus pyrohypogaster
(Red-bellied Grackle / Cacique candela)
The red-bellied grackle is endemic to Colombia where it is found in all three Andean ranges at altitudes of 800 to 2,400m (2,600 to 7,900ft) above sea level.
Its natural habitat is tropical forest, but the trees are increasingly being felled for timber and to make way for agriculture, and little virgin forest remains within its range.
H. pyrohypogaster was formerly classified as "endangered" by the International Union for Conservation of Nature but in 2012 the threat level was lowered to "vulnerable". This is on the basis that, although its forest habitat remains under pressure, it has been found at some new locations where it was not known before. The total population is now estimated to be in the range 2,500 to 9,999 individuals.
It was cloudy and raining at Virginia Lakes in the Sierra Nevadas when I took this. As you can see, the center was lit by a small break in the clouds.
The alabaster tomb of Sir Anthony Gell at Wirksworth’s St Mary the Virgin church
My eldest offspring (being an archeologist) gave me a deeper understanding of the construction and self demolition of Norman churches during a Father’s Day outing.
Zion National Park, Utah. Hiking up the river through the narrows is an amazing experience not to be missed whilst in Zion.
Pentax K1000 - CineStill 50Daylight - Virgin Falls State Natural Area, Tennessee - This waterfall is 110 ft. and it was raging. The water flows from a cave on top. Then drops down into a cave at the bottom.

On the right in the foreground is St Blaise's Church, and beyond it the Cathedral of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. On the left is the city's clocktower. In the background is Lokrum island.

Church of St Mary the Virgin, Clumber Park, Notts. Never having shot dawn at Clumber Park I turned up and started on the other side of the lake in front of the church, facing eastwards, just as the sky began to brighten. I soon realised what I wanted to shot, The Temple, was going to be lost in the shadows of surrounding trees, leading to a relocation to the other side of the lake (a long walk in the dark!)....so this is shot to the west against lovely pre dawn light.
counted 5 chicks, so mom and dad were busy through the marsh collecting food for the tiny fledglings....Virginia rail

The snorkeling area at a section of the beach at Virgin Island. We saw neon blue and green parrot fishes here.
The Virgin River flows toward the Watchman in Zion National Park. Things look quite different in the bottom of the canyon as opposed to looking down from the rim.
Created for the "I Manipulate You Manipulate Contest" in the Art Treasure Showroom.
This is the 5 and final manipulation. see all the others here
The photo had already been so heavily textured and manipulated, I decided to manipulate the photo by cutting it up into peaces and adding a color overlay.
