I wanted the dress to be something that fit with her vintage (1971), coordinated with her stock colors without being too hypercheerful, and could reasonably be used with the blue-gray thread already in my machine… I cut it out last night and sewed it today--had exactly enough of the chosen lace left to trim it as I envisioned, too!

Her necklace is a miniature locket from my childhood.
