I bought a set of six vintage dolls to hang on my Christmas tree some years ago. I decided to name them after the six wives of Henry VIII. This one is Anne Boleyn.

"Anne Boleyn was Queen of England from 1533 to 1536, as the second wife of King Henry VIII. The circumstances of her marriage and execution, by beheading for treason, made her a key figure in the political and religious upheaval that marked the start of the English Reformation."

I look at this doll's face and I see infinite resignation...

My mini me loves flowers as much as Bon Bon and I do.

They aspire to be just like Eeva the Great and travel to Disneyland to be immortalized in silhouette some day.

Lucille & Daisy, German bisque dolls—-belonged to my paternal grandmother, given to her when she was 6; she gave them to me when I was 12. They are now approximately 115 years old 💕

Polaroid SX-70 original + Polaroid film.

Two antique composition doll bodies. One has just passed, capturing the wispy essence of the soul as it exits the body to begin yet another journey. The other mourns the loss of her friend. The cycle of life.... even with dolls.

Just a side note: there was no PS editing done; only a bit of tweaking in Photo Editor for contrast and highlights. The "effects" of the spirit departing was achieved with crumpled Saran Wrap in front of part of the lens!
