Vintage letter scale and ink pot.
The love letters I bought online and I wish I could return them to the family of Ben who wrote them, he was very much in love with Mary Elizabeth.
The letters come from the U.S. so how they ended up in the Netherlands is a mystery to me.
The woman in the photo is my paternal grandmother Lilli.
The cell phone is how we communicate mostly today, not very romantic :)

In fact more than one item is Made No More, the encyclopedia from 1917, the Plateel ink pot and the letters weighing scale which I love. The weight would tell you which stamp to put on a letter :)

I also tried the Dark & Moody lesson with some props on my antique desk. I know it looks crooked and it is but it's old.

The Museum of Soviet Occupation in Tbilisi offers an in-depth overview of Georgia’s history under Soviet rule, focusing on repression and the struggle for independence. The exhibition features documents, photographs, and videos covering the period from Georgia’s short-lived independence in 1918-1921 to Soviet repression and the eventual declaration of independence in 1991. Visitors can view interrogation protocols of dissidents, orders for deportation or execution, and personal files of victims of Soviet repression, as well as artifacts from Soviet-era prisons and archives of the KGB and Communist Party. However, the museum’s opening also caused controversy, especially in Russia, with Russian politicians condemning it as nationalist propaganda. Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed his displeasure during a meeting with then Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili in 2006. Putin pointed out that many prominent Soviet leaders, such as Joseph Stalin and Lavrentiy Beria, were of Georgian origin. Saakashvili responded with a tongue-in-cheek offer to provide funds for a Museum of the Georgian Occupation in Moscow. Saakashvili later stated that the museum would not focus on Russia, but on the Soviet occupation of Georgia 😄.
The KGB desk in the Museum of Soviet Occupation in Tbilisi provides a haunting glimpse into the tools of oppression during the Soviet era. On the desk lies the personal file of Victim 3512, a tragic symbol of the thousands who were persecuted and monitored by the regime. Next to the file are an old-fashioned telephone and a desk lamp, both emblematic of the daily workings of Soviet bureaucracy and the KGB's control. Also noteworthy is the medal featuring the likeness of Vladimir Lenin, which serves as a reminder of the revolutionary leader and the ideology that underpinned Soviet policy. Together, these objects create a powerful representation of the repression and authority exercised during the Soviet period.
Please welcome Crimson and Crystalline!
Crimson is the dark haired beauty and our vision of Rose Red. Crystalline is the fair sister and our little Snow White.
I love how they beautifully compliment and contrast with each other.
btw...
I love to find the more elaborate Barbie gowns and eventually will alter some of them for my blythe girls.
Barbie gowns are an excellent fit on these Lila dolls! The only alternation needed on most is decreasing the width along the back upper edge of the bodice. The width in the waist and hips is right on and the torso length is a good match too.
I have some detailed Barbie patterns that would be a real pain to alter for blythe. I am excited to be able to use these patterns for my Lila girls now and sew with them as is.

I let this beloved desk go, but it came back to me! Read the full story at www.poetichome.com/2009/09/15/a-vintage-writing-desk/
Desk. Desk was an EBAY purchase, chair a garage sale find - Brooklyn. Lamp, one of 2 that were my parent's back in the 60's, Artwork a consignment shop find in Connecticut. Vintage fashion illustration - EBAY. Computer...mine and I love her.
70-200 f/2.8L II. Taken outside the hotel where the staff smokes, cigarettes where removed with PS. I like how the prop is personal to the couple and how the slip under the dress makes the image feel vintage. The colors were desaturated to highlight the vintage feel. I would have preferred a more blurred background when I composed the shot. It doesn't bother me as much after the image was processed.
