I was trying to set up the one page Mobius display so I grabbed an SE and external HD and hooked it all up. I realized I didn't have the right monitor cable to hook the Mobius display to the SE but when I booted the SE I got an interesting splash screen. Unfortunately the system looks to need repair but I was interested in the boot screen that came up. It looked rather "Defender of the Crown" with the knight and horse and castle in the background. But it also looked custom with the "Mac Lord Welcomes You..." I've never seen anything quite like it. What's even more puzzling is I thought I had booted both of these hard drives before without ever seeing this screen.

I have quite a few books stacked on and around the SE/30 these days. I've been really interested in Hypercard for some time now and finally got some books to help me along. I got the "big one" Danny Goodman's The Complete Hypercard. I also got Using Hypercard, XCMD's for Hypercard (for way later) and Apple's Hypercard Stack Design Guidelines. Unrelated to the bunch is Macintosh Repair & Upgrade Secrets. The spiral bound books are the stock Apple Hypercard books that come with the program.

Got this little gem on eBay for about $50. Fresh install of the OS and works beautifully. To be honest, it's my favorite laptop now -- even though it dates back to 1998.
