Sumakh ("vinegar tree")
This small tree or tall shrub has an exotic appearance and looks attractive all year round. Most representatives of the Sumac genus grow in warmer climates and the only representative that has acclimatized in the middle zone is the deer-horned sumac (Rhus typhina).
Why autumn leaves are so diverse and differ in many shades, not everyone knows. Most of the year, pigments are masked by a large amount of green chlorophyll. But in autumn, due to a decrease in the length of daylight hours and a decrease in temperature, active metabolic processes in the leaves stop, nutrients move from the foliage to the branches, trunk and root system, chlorophyll breaks down. Pigments of yellow and orange become visible, which gives the leaves their autumn splendor.
Unfortunately, we cannot independently influence the brightness of the color of the leaves, and in gloomy rainy weather sometimes we are left without a golden autumn parade. The only thing that can be done is to plant plants with decorative fall foliage in the sunniest places, since in partial shade the bright color may not appear or be less intense.
When I came out of work this afternoon it started to snow and there was a squall for about 5 minutes...so I decided to check out this spot about 10 minutes from my school..I always loved the name, "vinegar Hill" but don't know what it means. This tree stands alone in a huge corn field with a very prosperous dairy farm acroos the road behind where i was standing. Bonus - almost-full moon (which was covered by that cloud by the time I took my fifth shot.)
....home made vinegar is way less acidly than store bought... and if you happen to have the fruits anyway... way not...
it's my last as well....
This 'subject' always catches my eye - and my salad. A couple of others are in the first comment box.

I like the things that you hate
And you hate the things that I like
But it hurts
Honesty is your church
But sometimes, it's better to lie
I am the vinegar and salt
And you are the oil that dissolves
My frustration
Honesty's limitation
But sometimes, it's better to lie
A nice roadside waterfall but feels secluded while one is there listening to the flowing water.
I hope everyone enjoys this image! :D

I saw how many round objects there are in our home, so, now that we are back on Winter time, it is dark very early, the weather's gone bad, I've had plenty of time to think and be creative in the studio once more.
Glass is one of the most difficult substances to photograph; my challenge is to use the reflections in a positive manner so that they add to the image.
I love using different oils and vinegars in the kitchen, so over the years these glass beauties have now become part of a collection, the first was the 'ball' one in front!
I wish you all a sweet day and thanx for your visit, always welcome, Magda, (*_*)

The three Grade II listed calcining kilns at the Fountain Street Works in Fenton, Stoke-on-Trent are named Salt, Pepper and Vinegar on account of their analogous shapes. They were built in 1900 by William Baker & Co. replacing other calcining kilns which had been in operation since 1839. The site was acquired by James Kent & Co in 1909 to supply quartz and ox bone powders for their bone china production at nearby Old Foley works. The kilns were loaded with layers of flint and coke and then fired for 3 days at a temperature of 1400°C to render it friable. After a further two days of cooling the contents of the kilns were then unloaded and sieved to remove the coke and residue before being transferred to the grinding pans. The flint was ground by large millstones to a very fine powder to be added to the clay mix and give strength in the production of stoneware or white-ware. Ox bone would be fired at a lower temperature of 850°C before being ground and further added at a ratio of 10% to the clay mix in the production of bone china, and 30% for fine bone china. James Kent started his pottery business in 1897 at the Old Foley works and the firm continued in family ownership until 1981 when both sites were bought by Bayer (UK) Ltd. In 1985 the business was sold once again and then went through a succession of ownerships until 2003 when it was bought by the current private shareholders. The Old Foley works was bulldozed in 2006 but the James Kent Group continues today at the Fountain Street works manufacturing materials for the ceramics industry such as refractory elements, silicates, zirconium, frits for glazes and china clay. For the Smile on Saturday group challenge - "bottleneck"
And for the Group Life is a Rainbow. The colour is Brown. (no 2 of the Brown sequence)
I love balsamic vinegar, and I love to find a new brand or bottle. This one is Balsamico San Giacomo, and I confess that the red sealing wax with the string holding the cork secure in the neck of the heavy glass, squat square-shaped bottle was so unusual that I haven't opened it yet!! ;o)
