Dutch Post-Impressionist artist Vincent van Gogh, painting the view from his asylum window in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence just before sunrise, although it is an idealized and imagined scene.
"Starry Night" is celebrated for its expressive, swirling sky, flame-like cypress tree, and tranquil village, and it has become a cornerstone of Western art history, residing in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in NYC.
Despite Van Gogh himself considering the work a failure, it is now regarded as one of his greatest achievements and one of the most recognized paintings in the world.

Zondagmiddag bleef de recent fraai bestickerde ERS 189 206 in Waalhaven staan, de kans is dan groot dat de loc de volgende ochtend trein 42509 mee neemt. Wat ook gebeurde, hierdoor liet de fraaie loc zich voor het eerst zien op de Brabantroute.
In 2015 herdenken verschillende Europese steden het 125ste sterfjaar van Vincent van Gogh met bijzondere tentoonstellingen en culturele evenementen rond het thema '125 jaar inspiratie'. ERS Railways nam hier deelname aan door loc 189 206 voorzien van speciale Van Gogh bestickering.
ERS 189 206 met vol beladen Weil am Rhein-shuttle als trein 42509 van Maasvlakte-West naar het Duitse Weil am Rhein, passeert het zonnig Boxtel.

This is the garden at the hospital where in 1988 Vincent van Gogh was diagnosed with "acute mania with generalized delirium" after an altercation with Paul Gaugain, Van Gogh cut off part of his ear. He was hospitalized twice, but recovered enough to return to Paris.
The garden looks much the same as it dit in 1889 when van Gogh painted "The Courtyard of the Hospital at Arles",

The majority of them – over 25 – were done while he was in Paris (1886–88). He was short of money in that period and struggled to find models. So the artist chose the simplest solution and painted himself.
