Sorry, i' ve been very busy.

I'll come back later.

Vilar Seco (Vimioso)

On the road between Vimioso and Mogadouro, we found the late-Romanesque church of Azinhoso.

In fact, it would be more accurate to speak of a work of transition from the Romanesque to the Gothic, and the portal in our last photo, with a broken arch, is a sign of this hybrid character.

Its asymmetrical façade is undoubtedly unusual. We were also surprised by the set of columns that would have supported a porch on the north façade.

Some establish a connection between this church and the nearby Templar castles of Algoso and Penas Róias. Even if the order did not build it, it was surely inside an area where they had a strong presence.

This National Road 218, over the Maçãs River, in the middle of northeast Trás-os-Montes, has something unique, in the cliffs and gorges, in the viaducts and the river in the background.

Remote and almost empty, it left us with such a strong impression.

The light was not ideal, but we still captured some images to remember.
