The Villa Mon-Repos was the first secretariat of the International Olympic Committee and is now a historical landmark in Lausanne. Indeed, Lausanne is called the Olympic capital, a city where the Olympic was first planned.
Built in 1912 in the Italian Mediterranean Revival style, Villa Montalvo was once the home of James Phelan, a politician, banker and civic leader.
James Phelan served as mayor of San Francisco (1897-1902) and was the first elected U.S. senator from California (1915-1921).
Today Villa Montalvo is part of a cultural art center and county park in Saratoga, California.
On a rock cliff at one corner of the island lies the Villa, with its Japanese styling, including a Koi pond that runs underneath one wing, and a swimming pool.

die Villa Pflugensberg war bis 2008 der Sitz des Landeskirchenamtes der Evangelisch-Lutherische Kirche in Thüringen. Das Verwaltungsgebäude wurde 1889 als Villa erbaut, die wie ein Schloss aussieht.
