I'm an angel and I can prove it.
From the corner of Batman's Alley on Harmonia Street, a wall is attracting fans of graffiti and self-effacing: the "Angel of the Village," a colorful pair of wings occupying a wall of the Kotton Futons store at number 150, is turning a scenario known by the neighborhood.

Mauricio found the graffiti artist Celso Campos, the Gatuno. In one day, more exactly in less than 4 hours, the wing was ready. "In the end, the wall was better than the sketch!" Says Mauricio, who made a point of choosing the colors of the drawing.
"Commercially, it did not change much for the store, but it does. It was more lively here, the people that come to take the picture go into the store to get to know it too. What I liked the most was that the idea worked, and that people show up," .
Between selfies and poses with wings, professional photographers have already passed Kotton's wall, part of the Danish delegation (which remained in São Paulo before moving on to Rio 2016) and has even been the scene of a marriage proposal.
With more than 30 years of Brazil, and living in the neighborhood for 15 years, Mauricio says that the village has a different charm. "I adopted the village the way it is, with all it has. I adopted the village as my neighborhood. It's an inspiration, " he says.

What makes it different and cannot be seen from above is that every single wall in its 100m (328 ft.) extension is covered top-to-bottom with graffiti of all shapes and colours.
The graffiti here are not the average large-letter tags, although there is a lot of that.
Batman's Alley or Beco do Batman, in Portuguese, resembles more an open-air street art gallery, where abstract, surreal, psychedelic and geometric paintings colourfully co-exist.

Beco do Batman (English: Batman's Alley) is the nickname for the area around Rua Gonçalo Afonso and Rua Medeiros de Albuquerque in the Vila Madalena neighborhood of São Paulo. Beco do Batman is a popular tourist destination because of the dense concentration of graffiti that line the streets.
The nickname for the area is attributed to a graffito of the DC Comics character Batman which was painted on one of the walls in the 1980s. Local art students began filling the walls with other psychedelic and cubist influenced designs.

Em 1998, viu os primeiros grafites surgirem em seu bairro: os traços de Jerry Batista, hoje seu amigo, e Alexandre Niggaz, que morreu afogado na Represa Billings em 2003, aos 21 anos. Os trabalhos o inspiraram a começar a própria carreira, primeiro pintando a rua de casa, depois as vias vizinhas. O que era brincadeira de menino virou parte fundamental de sua vida. Hoje, além de se dividir entre telas e paredes, ele é um dos sócios de uma galeria de arte urbana na Vila Madalena, a A7ma.

Flat marble tomb base where two bronze sculptures of two standing angels are erected, with hands clasped at the chest as if praying and make a prayer. They have great wings with their tips touching the ground. One is facing the other, with eyes closed, separated by a high cross, also in bronze. It is noted that the author used the Expressionist style to sculpt the angels. Behind it was a large wall about three meters high, built with marble plaques on which are the inscriptions and the family name with a pink coloration. On this wall, behind the cross, a niche represents a gateway to the unknown on the "other side" of the threshold. This was the last sculpture made by Brecheret.
