I've posted this train in about 8 different locations between the time I first shot it as the sun came up at Rudyard and the last time I shot it here at Soo Yard. Train OTIAC at Sault Ste. Marie on February 20, 2001 with 711, 2004 and 6628 leading the ore. I think I have one more unposted view near Dafter I'll get to in a couple Thursdays:).
Hikers heading for an overlook, 5,475 feet above the floor of Death Valley. They will look down on the lowest point in North America (-262 feet).
Thanks for taking the time to view my image. Your comments, faves & constructive criticism are greatly appreciated.
Take a moment for yourself and enjoy the amazing views around you.
The last warm days are upon us, so it's good to make the most of them before it's so cold your face hurts when you go outside.

View from Raven Crag.. it's not quite from the summit, it's a better view than the one from the new summit viewing platform.
This site of the old Maori settlement is well worth a visit to soak up the history and imagine Te Rauparaha performing the spine-tingling ‘Ka Mate’ haka for the first time. The scenery around the area is stunning, the trees are full of birdlife, particularly kereru (wood pigeons), and the views across Lake Rotoaira to Mt Tongariro and beyond are incredible. Incidentally, Opotaka now affords a rather spectacular view of the active Te Maari crater, the site of the most recent eruption on Mt Tongariro

An amazing view from the top of Geokaun mountain in Valentia island, County Cork, Ireland, towards the west of the island and the Atlantic Ocean.
Looking at this flower from the stem to the ruffles of the petals gives me a sense of a bug's eye view.
I came across this strange viewing platform on my way to Clifton Suspension Bridge. It overlooks the Pimsoll Bridge in Bristol. One of my more crooked photos, but its not me, the structure is crooked.
Incredible view of the city from Galata Tower. For me, it was a life-time experience to be there on historical icon of Turkey, and having a great refreshing coffee at top floor restaurant on Galata Kulesi.
All other historical places can be seen back on horizon line.

Boardwalk.
The National Trust have built a boardwalk across this part of Cockmarsh, the footpath leading to the River Thames and the Thames Footpath. The ground would have been boggy during a wet winter!
A lovely trip on the Schafberg mountain cog-steam railway in Austria, with stunning views when you reach the top. HFF.
A view of the "floating" mosque across the lake from the Ayer@8 waterfront shops and dining hub in Putrajaya, Malaysia.
This is a view from the vineyards, which are so typical for the region where I live, down on the town Mundelsheim and the horseshoe bend of the river Neckar. I took a walk there on Sunday afternoon to make the best of the sunshine after a rather gloomy morning. Some more photos of the vineyards will follow although they may not be particularly interesting at this time of year, they are just green and there are no grapes on the vines yet.

A blaze of willowherb colour on Gaer Hill Fort in summer... Newport's famous Transporter Bridge is on the horizon.
