One of the many lakes there in Banff National Park that you can hike to and enjoy the peace and quiet.
After the rain I drove up to the top of Prefumo Canyon Road again, I knew it would be spectacular. And it was with all the clouds and light. Several cars stopped and we all oohed and awed at the stunning view. One couple was from Canada and the other was from Southern California. It was a great shared experience.
Gray Catbirds are relatives of mockingbirds and thrashers.

Aussicht vom Bantiger

The Bantiger is the local mountain of the Bernese, visible from afar, its lookout tower is present in the whole area. I took one of my grandchildren with me and together we enjoyed the view. Although I don't really like the popular lookouts, of course I took a few pictures.
Der Bantiger ist der weithin sichtbare Hausberg der Berner, sein Aussichtsturm ist in der ganzen Umgebung präsent. Ich habe einen meiner Enkel mitgenommen und zusammen haben wir die Aussicht genossen. Obwohl ich die populären Aussichtspunkte eigentlich nicht so mag, habe ich natürlich ein paar Bilder gemacht.

A view from Corcovado where the Jesus statue is located in Rio de Janeiro Brazil
The most popular attraction of Corcovado mountain is the statue and viewing platform at its peak, drawing over 300,000 visitors per year. From the peak's platform the panoramic view includes downtown Rio, Sugarloaf Mountain, the Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas (lake), Copacabana and Ipanema beaches, Estádio do Maracanã (Maracanã Stadium), and several of Rio's favelas. Cloud cover is common in Rio and the view from the platform is often obscured. Sunny days are recommended for optimal viewing.
Notable past visitors to the mountain peak include Charles Darwin, Pope Pius XII, Pope John Paul II, Alberto Santos-Dumont, Albert Einstein, Diana, Princess of Wales, and General Sherman, among others. An additional attraction of the mountain is rock climbing. The south face had 54 climbing routes in 1992. The easiest way starts from Park Lage.
View form Trail Ridge Road (highest continuous paved road in the US reaching elevation of 12,183 feet), Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado. Driving on this road is little nerve wrecking, but in the end rewarded by breathtaking scenery. Changing elevation takes you from tree lines to alpine tundra which has very fragile ecosystem. Weather up top is ever changing and highly unpredictable. I will add some more shots next few days as I continue to process them.
If you like 'architectural' views, go to Greenwich, London. Here, through one of the the front windows of Queen's House, and onto one of the domes of the Old Royal Naval College and then, across the Thames, to the business buildings of Canary Wharf. Just in front of Queen's House, an ice rink has been built - pure joy during the winter.

Day view of wintry Hakodate from 334 metres high Mount Hakodate. Hakodate is Hokkaido's third-largest city, located at the southern tip of the island. The view from the mountain is more famous by night, but the daytime version is also great.

Distorted views and perspectives have been used in art and photography for a long time. The manipulation of the size and shape of objects (or faces, for that matter) can be creative, revealing or funny. This cherub, taken with a 10mm fish-eye lens at very close range, is totally out of proportion and, yet, it is pleasing to the eye. The point I wish to make about distorted views is that they can be acceptable and unacceptable. It is unacceptable when the distortion is not acknowledged or, even worse, when distorted views themselves are regarded as normal. In the latter case collective madness would be in charge. Fuji X-E3.
