We had a wander round Tewkesbury the other day after going there for an errand. Every summer colourful banners are displayed outside shops and homes and I knew they were mediaeval in style but didn’t know the full significance until now. Each banner is a representation of the coat of arms of a knight who fought at the Battle of Tewkesbury in 1471, the final decisive battle of the Wars of the Roses. We found information about several of them outside these houses by the river.

I absolutely love Dunmore house, which was apparently bought up for development quite some time ago. Here's hoping they never bulldoze it

I've posted this train in about 8 different locations between the time I first shot it as the sun came up at Rudyard and the last time I shot it here at Soo Yard. Train OTIAC at Sault Ste. Marie on February 20, 2001 with 711, 2004 and 6628 leading the ore. I think I have one more unposted view near Dafter I'll get to in a couple Thursdays:).

I like the bendy road bottom right, would have been nice to get an angle using the road as a lead in :-)

It looks a bit like fall foliage but unfortunately the reddish trees are dead spruce trees. The trees are being killed by beetles that bore into and eat the living tree beneath the bark. Otherwise I thought this was a nice view of the lake and mountains with a bit of remaining snow in August.

From the platform on the pyramid of the moon in Teotihuacan, we have a splendid view that let us realize the gigantism of this city.
The city was founded around 100 BC and lasted until the 7th - 8th century AD. At its peak around 500 AD, its population was estimated at 125000 inhabitants or more (source Wikipedia).
In the left of the photo, we discover the pyramid of the sun, 65 meters (216 feet) high. The large driveway opposite is called the Avenue of the Dead, It is more than 2 km (1,3 mile) long.
