View form Trail Ridge Road (highest continuous paved road in the US reaching elevation of 12,183 feet), Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado. Driving on this road is little nerve wrecking, but in the end rewarded by breathtaking scenery. Changing elevation takes you from tree lines to alpine tundra which has very fragile ecosystem. Weather up top is ever changing and highly unpredictable.
The fascinating & beautiful ruins of Glastonbury Abbey, UK, provided me with a glimpse of the city beyond through one of its remaining windows. One can only imagine how glorious this abbey must have been before it was destroyed!

Eilean Donan Castle, Scotland
A different view of the castle. I'd been warned so I knew that between 9am & 6pm you are not allowed to fly a drone near the castle but I have to commend the owners for not putting a blanket ban on drones. I suspect this way people are more likely to obey the rules and come early or late like I did.
Again I hope to reshoot this in Oct or March and think sun set may be better. It is an epic view though!

A different perspective view altogether of the pools of water.
Talsarnau or Talsamau is a village and community in the Ardudwy area of Gwynedd in Wales. Its population was 525 in 2001, and had increased to 550 at the 2011 Census. The village of Talsarnau is situated on the A496 coastal road between Maentwrog and Harlech, close to the hamlets of Eisingrug and Llandecwyn.
The pink colour of the inner petals is often hard to see, so this is why I chose a side view of this lovely blossom. This is one of my favourites types of peony and I can hardly wait to see them in another four months or thereabouts.

The truly spectacular Quiraing is an icon of Scotland. Many people visit only the first short section of path. My intention was to walk around it, but heavy rain prevented me from doing so. A real shame, as the site is so spectacular.
This image has been produced many times by photographers over the years. The view is of Loch Tummel looking west from the viewing platform called “Queen’s View”. The body of water is often called Loch Scotland because the outline of the water looks like the shape of the country. You can’t see it as well as you used to because the trees to image right have grown considerably in recent years and chops off the east coast.
You can’t really do too much to change the viewpoint with this shot so all you can do is try to get the best possible conditions. Alas, as is so often the case I didn’t plan this particularly well and missed the best of the light. I had been in the north west of Scotland earlier in the day and thought I could chance a sunset on route south. It didn’t quite work out as bright or as nice as I would have liked but there is a lot of drama going on in that sky.
The Chateau Lake Louise Lakeview Bar stands out as a rather nice place to have a cup of coffee, cocktail, beer or other favorite drink. Wonderful place to hang out after enjoying the many hikes that are around this beloved lake.

The viewing platform was constructed to support the outfall. It connects to the foreshore walkway system and provides the public elevated access to the water’s edge and views of Hawke Bay and back to the city.
