This video was shot in studio and the bumble bee released after being paid for her modeling session.
I love to film just as much as I love to take pictures! So I made a video compilation of mostly all the plants that I have been taking pictures of. I hope you enjoy!

A short, poor quality video of a Snowy Owl seen today, 23 January 2025. I wanted to post it just for a record of this sighting. This is the third try to upload a video this evening. Looks like Flickr might have a small problem somewhere, or else it might be my computer at fault. If it just will not load, then I will replace it with a still photo of the owl. Oh, I guess it finally downloaded. Not sure what I did at the end of the video. Actually, this was the first of two Snowy Owls seen today, I suspect a third one seen later, perched on a power pole, was the same individual as the bird in this video.
A short drive SE of the city on 23 January 2025 produced two Snowy Owls and a Coyote. Other than those, all I saw were several Black-billed Magpies. Luckily, it was an overcast day, so I wasn't bothered by harsh sun glare.
Driving along one of my regular roads, I spotted a car far in the distance and it looked like it had pulled over. Wondering if it was perhaps a birder/photographer, I slowed right down, stopped, and then very cautiously pulled forward, not wanting to flush an owl if it was being photographed. When I got close enough to the car, I could see a raised camera. When it was lowered, I inched my way forward and I told the driver that I had wondered if he had found an owl and that I didn't want to flush it for him. He said yes, he had found an owl and asked if I hadn't noticed it. Turning my head, sure enough, a beautiful male Snowy was sitting on a distant hill.
From there, I drove a few other back roads to check a spot where I had seen a Snowy Owl some previous years, Couldn't believe my eyes when I saw a white 'blob' perched exactly where I had hoped one would be. Again, too far away for decent photos, but wonderful to see.
Driving a few back roads on my way home, I again saw a car pulled over (turned out to be the same photographer). Sure enough, I saw a very distant owl (male) perched high up on a power pole. Given the location, it could easily have been the same individual that I first photographed, so I'm not counting it as a third Snowy.

In May I spent an absolutely amazing weekend at my best friend in the whole world Emily Pearson We made so many good memories over three days, memories which are captured in the 540 photos in this video. (I have synced the changing of the photos to the beat of the music)
We both went out for the first time in daytime/casual dress and we did that twice and Went to the Deep, A Wetherspoons pub for food, Primark, Ann Summers, a Park to feed the ducks and caught a bus.
We also went out three consecutive nights to Propaganda and Fuel and ended up on the website gallery (see last set of pics in video).
We also shared a brilliant night out with Sally Withers Colin and Steve.
In this video you will see us in many locations such as the Deep Aquarium, The pub, East Park, Victoria Square, Queens Gardens, Propaganda and Fuel nightclubs.
This video brings back very strong emotions for us both and brings us to tears, tears of joy of happy shared memories together. Long lasting amazing memories. I'm eternally grateful to my lovely friend Emily.
Hugs
Gemma

My computer is now back, though the program I wanted still will not work!
I can however upload the short video from yesterday of a black hairstreak. It then turned to face me head on!
While I was out walking early one morning last week, there was a noticeable end of summer feel to things. The grasses and wild flowers had set their seeds, the berries and fruits were formed on the trees and shrubs, and the leaves on the trees had lost their summer softness and were rattling in the light wind. I was walking beside a hedgerow which was thick with Ahrrentherum elatius, a common native grass. It had all flowered and turned to seed, apart from a single inflorescence which was in full pristine flower. It was being visited over and over and over again by a constant stream of the same species of tiny hoverfly, feeding on the pollen in the minute flowers which were trembling in the breeze. I watched it for a long time .... this is a 15 second video of it.

First roll through the GEC Transistomatic, the one camera that took the little-explored path of combining a radio and a camera in one device. It wasn't until mobile phones came on the scene that this became a thing again. The camera part is basically a Kodak 100 Instamatic. The film was Kodak Verichrome Pan 126 that expired in 1982. This is proof positive that VP is *not* absolutely bulletproof. Every other roll of it I've shot came out well, but this one looks like it spent its life in a damp cellar behind a locked door with a sign on it saying "Beware the Leopard". Experiment partially successful.
