The Mute swan actually gets its name from the fact that its is less vocal than other swan species and is one of the heaviest flying birds. A male swan is known as a Cob while the female is known as a Pen and has a lifespan of around 12 years in the wild and can reach 30 years if in an protected environment. One of three species of wild swans to be found in the UK and is the national bird of Denmark. The Mute Swan is unique in making a vibrant throbbing sound with the wings when in flight. A large group of swans can be called, school, ballet and regatta. No swan has ever broken anyone's arm, this is a actually a complete myth.

This iris is long gone but so beautiful in early morning light, lucky enough to capture its beauty on many levels.
I just realized I’ve been MIA for quite awhile! Had to get treated for back pain, met virtually with sleep therapist, family reunion and met my granddaughter Alice for the first time…how wonderful that was:-)
Thanks very much for stopping by, I’m wishing you a wonderful week…Pat..xo
We’re in the part of the US where we’ve had drought and heat with respites of showers and lower temps. What’s the weather like in your world?
Another macro for Macro Mondays, theme curves. It's actually an individual agapanthus bud covered in raindrops. Have a great week every one !
There were trays full of cyclamen in the garden centre. The colours were gorgeous, so vibrant. I did buy one, although I don’t generally do very well with them. I have more success with amaryllis and poinsettia. True to form, the cyclamen didn’t last very long.
This is the outdoor ceiling that covers the entrance to the Treasure Island Hotel where they do valet parking!! Only in Vegas...:))

Every year I celebrate the return of favorite flowers. Hooray for Hydrangea blossoms. They resemble Nature's own M. C. Escher works of art. "Choose only one master—nature."....Rembrant
