All gave some; some gave all.
I did my 4 years and got out. I often wish I would have stayed in. Hind sight is so much better..;)
It's okay if you can't remember who we fought. Just remember who fought for you
ALL VETERANS Thank you for your time, bravery, and sacrifice for this country.
I am forever grateful for what you've done
to maintain America's Freedom , Happy Veterans Day
Originally called the Columbia-Wrightsville Bridge, because it connects the two towns across the Susquehanna River in south central Pennsylvania, this bridge, constructed from 1929-1930, is still the world's longest concrete multiple-arch bridge.
Great Patriotic War veteran with his "battle girlfriend" - the old accordion. if you enlarge the image you can see the photo, where this man still quite young with the same accordion in his hands.

Today is Veteran's Day in the United States, a federal holiday observed annually on November 11 for honoring military veterans who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces. Veterans Day celebrates the service of all U.S. military veterans, and is distinct from Memorial Day, celebrated in May, which honors those who have died while in military service. Veterans Day in the U.S. is celebrated on the same day as Armistice Day or Remembrance Day in other countries.
This shot was taken several years ago at the Great Lakes National Cemetery, near Holly, Michigan. Thanks to all who have served. May we never forget their sacrifices.
This old girl (Barn Orb Weaver) certainly looked like she was feeling her age to a higher degree, notice she has a leg missing. I took this under a pedestrian barrier on a bridge, the barrier was only just beyond waist height and there was a row of LEDs underneath the top of it, so said Spiders (and big they were) were grouped together using the struts as web supports plus the insects were attracted to the lights, an intelligence of Spiders I admire; so I had to lay down on the floor directly underneath said Spider with the Raynox attached, but, as it behaves like a Magnifying glass getting the focus was a tricky affair, I had to raise my upper torso which made my abs judder (I'm so bloody unfit) and this wrecked my control, so, I placed my tripod in its case under the small of my back and propped myself up using that. Success, eventually!
I hope everyone's week is going well and so as always, thank you! :)
our deepest gratitude and condolences for the losses and sacrifices of so many, in the hopes of making this a better world.
we thank you, and as always,
we pray for peace.
Happy Veteran's Day!
A salute on this special day to our veterans, past and present, who sacrificed for America and Canada. Happy Veterans Day and Canadian Remembrance Day!
May we never forget. And may someday peace reign and rule forever (one can dream.....).
This old veteran still managed to cruise by with the rest of the squadron to roost for the night. Hats off but I think it maybe the last season for this one. Looking on line it says they live for several decades in the wild. So this guy maybe older than me. Will keep an eye out for this old soul of the sky.
A tribute to America's Veterans.
I recall a commentary David Brinkley did many years ago from Arlington National Cemetery. He said the next President who decides to send Americans into harms way should make the announcement from Arlington.

Thankful for ALL VETERANS
THANK YOU for everything you do for our country and our freedom! Today and every day we thank Veterans everywhere for their service! There aren't enough words to show our gratitude for all the troops who served our country. To all Veterans out there, we honor, respect, and support you!
We celebrated at Kens home with a nice dinner. Brian our son, 6 years in the Navy and Ken served in WW ll. Ken's holding his WW ll book that Dave's brother did years back for his father.

We Take The Time, To Say THANK-YOU Today !!!
You Shall Never Be Forgotten !!
Thank-You So Much For Your Service ...
You Truly Are A Hero !! And We Thank-You So Much !

Today is November 11th here in Thailand.
Veterans Day is a special day for me.
A time when I reflect back on all the
"Hero's" I've known, and how so
many never made it home.
Please take a moment and really
digest just how lucky you are.
The gold reflection you see
is Buddha high on the ridge
quietly watching over us.
Thank You.

New England Central Railroad train 611 (Brattleboro to Palmer turn that forwards the connecting 323/324 road freight traffic) has paused here at about MP 68.5 on NECR's Palmer Sub, the former Central Vermont Railway mainline, as they set off traffic for the busy industrial park at Barretts. On the point is NECR 3015, a rebuilt GMDD GP40-2W blt. Jun. 1974 as CN 9457 which was repainted into this Honoring Veterans scheme in August 2024. This view was captured looking down from the right of way of the abandoned Hampden Railroad....one of the long vanished routes in Palmer...famously known as "The Town of Seven Railroads."

Veteran "W Class" tram 854 is seen clanking across the La Trobe Street bridge on a Route 30 service to St Vincent's Plaza. The W Class trams are increasingly unpopular with Melbourne residents, and as such are relegated to minor routes and peak hour services.

Paprihaven extends our heartfelt gratitude to all the men and women who have served to protect the freedoms we hold dear!

Veterans Day 2018
Happy Veterans Day to all the Veterans and my father in law Ken and Brian Christiansen.
It's important to take a moment to thank the veterans. Their valor and honor made this country what it is.
Thank you.
Vietnam Veterans Memorial Park. A Vietnam Veterans Memorial was dedicated on November 11, 1991, and includes a 100-foot (30 m) high obelisk-shaped monument painted red, white, and blue. The planning for the $1.5 million project began in 1986, when the Suffolk County Vietnam Veterans Memorial Commission was formed. A design contest received over 1,300 entries, and the winning design was submitted by Bob Fox, a Vietnam veteran from Massachusetts.
Vietnam Veterans of Southern California would march in parades throughout the Los Angeles area. A majority of the members were Latino and very proud of their military service. When we marched in the East LA Christmas Parade the Latino crowd always cheered us and it felt great. A large percentage of the members were combat veterans who had been awarded the Purple Heart. One member had the Navy Cross.
