We read about your snowman building contest in Tahoe Donner News, and we would like to enter your competition. Our snow creations were built over the New Year's holiday. As my husband, 12 year old daughter, Clare, and I were building our snowman, "TahoeDon," our teenage boys, Tom and Jack, were building their "snowdog," "Snow-ver," with the help of our golden retriever, Scout. The boys thought our choice of building a snowman was boring and provincial, and so they decided to build a snowdog. The gauntlet was thrown, and our familial competition began. As boring as our snowman may be, my husband, daughter, and I believed it to be a far superior structure to the boys'. When we read about your contest, we thought it the perfect opportunity to have the experts decide. (Granted, our boys' submission may not even qualify since it is not, technically, a snow "man." Their position is that the dog is decidedly male (please don't look too closely), and so in the spirit of good sportsmanship it should qualify.)
Our family lives in Marin County, and we own a vacation home in Tahoe Donner.

Finished the overall design of the quilt. Decided that it needs a pop of aqua to make it work.
This is the design without the block and patch lines.
The two lower corners don't have blocks yet, because I haven't decided which flora themed blocks will go there.
