Venus and Jupiter 2 days after closest conjunction and already it is very apparent how far apart they have moved in just a few days. Jupiter is at the top Venus at the bottom.

They're all much nicer than they appear here, and I really really hope they have a good sense of humor...

According to FlightAware, this is UAL1900 descending through 8500 feet approaching SAN from SFO. It passed in front of the Moon & Venus a couple hours after the occultation ended and the clouds cleared.
400mm lens, cropped.
No time to set up the refractor- just slapped the solar filter over my lens and shot. After driving several hours to get a tiny break in the clouds, I had less than one minute to shoot before the clouds took over for the evening.

Above Spade Lakes sits Venus Lake - in a large cirque below Mt. Daniel. I arrived late in the day and the lower vantage doesn't show off the pretty blue color. I hadn't been back to the lake in 12 years.

A hot sunny afternoon with some breeze and the telescope tube wrapped with kitchen foil to alleviate thermal gain. A challenge to get the subject to an acceptable focus and difficult seeing conditions during capture. I had to shroud myself and the laptop with a large towel to view the screen.
Out of 8000 frames captured, about 1600 used for processing. Final image enlarged to 150%.

The Venus Mill, built in 1908, eased the high
cost of shipping silver ore out of Yukon Territory. Gravity
pulled a line of ore-filled tipping buckets 460m down
an aerial tramway cable from Venus Mine to the mill.
Belt-driven mill machinery crushed and ground the
ore into a powder. Mineral concentrate, floated out
of the crushed rock by chemical means, was dried,
bagged and shipped by steamboat to the railway at
Carcross.
At peak production, the mill produced 10 tons of silver ore
concentrate per day. The Venus Mill did not operate after 1920

Taken from Oxfordshire, UK with a Canon 1100D wtih 18-55mm kit lens.ISO-3200 for 20 seconds at f/18. Image processed in Fast Stone Image Viewer. With having the f-stop so high, the closed iris gives Venus a sort of starburst pattern which I really like.
