All of these are done with the scripts available at Scriptographer. You have to install scriptographer, then experiment with the tools in Illustrator. Looks like it's still PPC processors, though, for the moment, so that's a reason to keep the old computer around a bit longer. ;)

I attempted an art deco style but I'm not really sure if I succeeded. Anyway, the train is moving to the right through a desert landscape, with mountains in the background behind the train and rays of the setting sun coming from behind the mountains on the left. The "Red Cloud Limited" logo is also my design ... the line never existed; inception and fabrication by me. The goal was to achieve a 1930's look when travel by high-speed rail and modern locomotive was a luxury. I think maybe the colors are too bright for art deco but I like the way it turned out.

For a college tutorial on drawing with Inkscape and also ideas for a paper mache puppet we made for an animation; still very much inanimate.
I felt like doing another vector portrait and chose David Tennant as the subject. I was really curious to see how I would handle the challenge of his freckles and fine brown hair. It turns out, I eliminated the freckles and only added strategic individual hairs where needed.
