Vectorial Elevation - The first time the internationally celebrated work of art will be displayed in Canada and over a body of water. Beams of light pointed towards the stars will illuminate English Bay and the night sky in downtown Vancouver in a spectacular light show during the 2010 Olympics as part of the Cultural Olympiad.

The display, considered one of the world's largest interactive artworks, is lead by Canadian artist Rafael Lozano-Hemmer.

We attempted to combine collage and vector illustrations. We thought it may have been an effective method, as the objects are focused through the use of colour. We wanted to achieve a playful vibe and to communicate the village as a vibrant and exciting place. However, the feedback we received made us realise we were not achieving the vibe we wanted through this method. The original illustrations of the house were too plain and had no personality that related to the image of the Pokfulam Village. We wanted to convey the confusing, yet calm and playful nature of the village. Moving forward, we decided to use a more hand drawn style because the vectors were too harsh and architectural.
