Saigon street scene & statue of the Virgin Mary.

Saigon Notre-Dame Basilica was built in the late 1880s and is located in the center of District 1. It was conferred as a Basilica by the Vatican in 1959 and still serves as a religious institution to Saigon’s Catholic population. It bears a 4-meter tall statue of the Virgin Mary in front of the basilica, which caused quite a stir in late 2005.

On October 29, 2005, witnesses claim to have seen a single tear streak down the right side of the Virgin Mary statue. Thousands of local Vietnamese Catholics subsequently swarmed the city center to catch a glimpse of the alleged miracle, causing such severe traffic that the police had to redirect the standstill and maintain orde

Menhir: stone pillars which, while not so numerous as Dolmen, are just as mysterious. This one was “Christianized” by the addition of a frescoed grotto underneath.

Port view Dubrovnek

Dubrovnik is a city in southern Croatia fronting the Adriatic Sea. It's known for its distinctive Old Town, encircled with massive stone walls completed in the 16th century. Its well-preserved buildings range from baroque St. Blaise Church to Renaissance Sponza Palace and Gothic Rector’s Palace, now a history museum. Paved with limestone, the pedestrianized Stradun (or Placa) is lined with shops and restaurants.

Farmer at market day in Kazmierz Dolny - Poland

I was on a bike trip of Poland. The group had stopped at market day in the town. There were many photo ops here and I decided to try my first shot of a stranger. I stopped by this farmer and spoke the only Polish I knew, saying I am an American and my grandfather is Polish. Then, I held up my camera and asked by gesture if I could take his picture. He waved back "go ahead"

I did not capture his name due to the language difference.

He did offer a sample of his red currents and green apples, which I graciously thanked him for.
