A miniature rechargeable battery, modified for soldering onto circuit boards. It started out as a 1.2 volt, 80 milliampere-hour nickel metal hydride button-style cell, similar to standard batteries used in watches, small electronics, etc. A third party shrunk some insulation around the cell and attached stiff wire leads.
I only needed a single battery to replace one that wouldn't hold a charge, installed in a timer switch. I could have thrown away or recycled the malfunctioning device, but I couldn't resist the challenge of repairing the unit. The downside of scratching that itch was ending up with a spare battery because of a two-battery minimum purchase.

More light painting fun in Banks Street Reserve, Brisbane. My first attempt at a backlit scene. Accidentally leaving my headlamp on improved the photo.
Lighting: Convoy L6 on tripod for backlight, Varta 5-LED headlamp, and Lumens Factory Seraph SP-6 with high-CRI module on gorillapod for background.

Bought more than 10 years ago, before I started with large and medium format. Belonged to a reporter at the local newspaper. A sturdy metal body and 3 lenses: Rockor 50 mm/f1,7, Panagor auto 35 mm/f2 and Soligor 135 mm/f2,8. Has someone experience of this old film camera and the accompanying lenses?
Think the old odd battery (Varta V625U) still works, we'll see...

To me, Batteries are little metal things that I have to buy to make my best toys work - most importantly, my camera.
They can be dangerous things if they leak their acid out.
They can be expensive, they can be inexpensive, but they are absolutely necessary.
All in all, I (for one) need plenty of them in my life.

As far as 2011 in dolly terms...many wishes and dreams came true! I have the BL girls I love and adore! I adopted two unbelievable girls from Tinycutethings! Melly Kay, Pippaandpom, Pixiepoo, Mo'Betta, Rainbowcoton, Lunita, FrankieDarling, Mako, Tiina, FWB, Coco girls joined the Walden gang!

After earlier multi color session i decided, that next capture must be more old school... so i decided that i use only one flashlight with warm white source of light from krypton .
I picked -Industrial Lantern 4D- from Power Line of VARTA. I really like this flashlight... hmmm i really like all VARTA`s flashlights , but sometimes i like more this model, of this model :)
i forgot about this picture..hmmmm and maybe this was only a trial.....hmmmm never mind ;)

I must say that I really like this photograph, especially the magical atmosphere that I was trying to give.
it is amazing how simple dark places change into some kind of different world.....and everything becouse light painting !:)
