My #7 Ignatz has been kind of a pain to set up properly and then the issues with mounting the pickups has eaten up some time, but I think I've finally cleared the summit. Just gotta dial it in a bit, but I think we're finally there.
For some reason the truss rod in this one was WAY over-tightened. Setting it up has been a change-it-a-little-and-wait-a-day kind of thing as everything settled back into where it needed to be. I was worried that it was warped, but it seems to have overcome its issues. Almost. Close.
There's still some pickup adjustment to be done, but it's got a voice. It's really hot. Amazing how well the Varitone works with distortion. Clean I'm kinda not all that diggin' most of the Varitone settings. Like the bypass setting is obviously OK and the one just to the left of that is kind of cool, but then the other three settings are kind of too treble-attenuated for my tastes. Whole 'nuther beast with distortion, though. Some of those treble-attenuated settings are really nice.
