Not painted in Varitone colors, unfortunately. This was the first time I've ever seen more than one Magnette together in the same place.
The wiring: 3x On off slide switches, Master vol + neck series/parallel,
master treble+middle series/parallel, master bass control+bridge
series/parallel, 6 way varitone (with choke), middle pickup phase switch
and a momentary kill button on the lower horn.........!

Pete's Car Show, Waltham Chase Monthly Gathering at Ria's Café, Waltham Chase Village Hall. 12th. October 2025
Done playing it, sounds good and works great. The Harmony guitar style flipper switch on the varitone circuit I made makes it really easy to flip to new sounds. Some pickup combos aren't hum canceling but sound great, and the phase switch has weird unintended effects. Love it so far.

This is another shot I took where I could see one of those weird ghost reflections. I keep on noticing them.... This shows the reflection of the woman, who is reflected off the glass of a bus stop window, behind that glass is a bus, which I focused on and reflected off the bus stop glass is the row of shops across the road. Get that???? hahah. I really like these kind of urban ghosts shots, I have three now, I think it will be a new series that I am going to work on. What you think?????

Here's my #77 after mods.
Man, I think I like this Grease Bucket tone control. The resonant peak before the filter makes the pickup sound good even with the Tone backed-off quite a bit. Usually I almost never use a Tone control. It's why my Ignatz has a Varitone, because I'll use one of those. Again, the resonant peak of a Varitone makes the filter sound good, IMO.
So here she is. All tricked-out. I liked this guitar before. Now I really like this guitar.

Used Nik Color Efex Pro Photo Stylizer/Varitone/7 and used the amazing Nik Vivesa plug to add a control point to desaturate the neon sign just a bit
I got this one in a pretty sad state. It was stripped of all its parts, part of the headstock was missing. Johan Gustavsson replaced the missing section of headstock so well you can't even tell it was fixed. I replaced all the missing parts from stuff in my vintage parts stash. I wired it as a 335 and did away with the Varitone (more like a tone sucker).
I enjoy playing this when I'm in my Larry Carlton mode.
You can see the caps here. Tiny, surface-mount caps. Probably tantalum. Not an audiophile's dream, but they sound great to me.
