Looking over the hill at Tenby, Wales and the stunning colours of the sky as the sun has sunk below the hill on Thursday 23rd September 2021 with the vapour trails of a jet airliner heading towards Dublin

The contrails play their part in the cloud patterns, and dominate the reflections.

The sun is about to make an appearance.

Better On Black larger.

A local pilot drew several of these, through the summer 2020, after Covid restrictions were eased.

Looking out, I thought we were fog bound, but decided to go walkabout for a little. At first I saw the crisscrossed pink sky, then the fingers of mist, lapping up the hill. It looked like reflections. I soon filled my card. Later I watched the sun appear.

Spectacular vapour trail marks paths of both jets with the top one heading to New Zealand and the left one to Adelaide. 61913

looking at the rainy weather today it seems so long ago we had lovely evenings.

A walk across Virdiefield at lunchtime, enough snow fallen to make it interesting and a bit different. About a couple of hours of sunlight left.

One that needs to come out of my Flickr-to-go file. On that evening the vapour trails looked just beautiful.

Kanlıkavak Park, Eskisehir, Turkey. The name translates literally as bloody poplar. In England we call the trees red poplars, the Turkish name is definitely more dramatic!

The canola is ripe, waiting to be harvested and the clouds are beginning to roll in across the broad skies of Hampshire on the last day of July. At Bradley.

Over Antalya, Turkey. Of course the trails were not made by the same plane...I hope!

The sun, which had already set at ground level, was catching on the contrail of this commercial jetliner flying at 41,000 feet on its way from Perth to Melbourne, and giving it an amazing glow.

I have eliminated what blue was in the sky to highlight the colourful contrail and boosted the colour just a little.

Happy Slider Sunday!

.....even if you miss you'll land amongst the stars

The sky was clear and the vapour trails from the plane were visible against the blue sky.

The moon was rising and I captured two separate shots and combined the two in Photoscape X Pro.

Good morning everyone! I very much hope you are all safe and well.

Windy, raining and overcast again today, so I thought I'd brighten up the day by taking you back in time to 19.00pm on a glorious September evening, when I took this close up of the more intense area on the horizon looking West towards Trofarth.

Last September, saw many spectacular sunsets - this being another fine example.

Isn't nature wonderful!

Jetstar Airways Pty Ltd, operating as Jetstar, is an Australian low-cost airline (self-described as value-based) headquartered in Melbourne. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of Qantas, created in response to the threat posed by airline Virgin Blue. Jetstar is part of Qantas' two brand strategy of having Qantas Airways for the premium full-service market and Jetstar for the low-cost market. Jetstar carries 8.5% of all passengers travelling in and out of Australia. The airline operates an extensive domestic network as well as regional and international services from its main base at Melbourne Airport, using a mixed fleet of the Airbus A320 family and the Boeing 787 Dreamliner. Like its Qantas parent, Jetstar competes with Virgin Australia. Qantas, through the Jetstar Group, also has stakes in sister airlines Jetstar Asia Airways and Jetstar Japan. 62841

If you are lucky enough you can catch aeroplanes as they fly from Tegal airport over Berlin

Maybe time to introduce "Airtraffic lights".

Wish you a sunny weekend.

Brussels' New Year parties ended up under gorgeous skies, but rain started falling in the afternoon and kept on pouring for a few days…

Spotted this remote house in the countryside, what a beautiful back garden and outlook.

Gorgeous golden leaves, I think they're Aspen trees, against the deep blue Essex sky

On Explore 25/8/14 , Im so proud to be part of Explore thank you all

As I was sitting in the backyard the other evening, I noticed this vapour trail during the last ray of light and thought it would make for a great shot.

This was the second of two images taken at Cropston Reservoir between 17.50 and 18.10pm, just after the sun had set below the horizon moments earlier, on Friday 18th March when visiting Leicestershire last weekend. The three vapour trails are from aircraft shortly to land at East Midlands Airport.

Cropston Reservoir (originally known as Bradgate Reservoir) lies in Charnwood Forest, Leicestershire and was opened in 1871 in a corner of the 987 acre Bradgate Park - North West of the City of Leicester. Both are designated areas of Special Scientific Interest. The reservoir was formed by the River Lin and is capable of holding 500 million imperial gallons.

The growing population of Leicester and the surrounding areas meant that by the late 19th century, the reservoirs in Leicestershire were no longer adequate to meet demand and water is now piped from the Ladybower Reservoir, Derwent Valley, Derbyshire to Cropston.

Contrails or vapour trails are line-shaped clouds produced by aircraft engine exhaust or changes in air pressure, typically at aircraft cruising altitudes several miles above the Earth's surface. Contrails are composed primarily of water, in the form of ice crystals...l have always been fascinated by them but never took a photo of them ..

Well top of the world in South Wales at least!

Taken last week when we went up Penyfan, just the slightest dusting of snow, so fresh and beautiful up there somewhere where you can just escape and enjoy the stunning scenery .

Thanks for stopping
