This years "booster shots" (Flu and Covid19) resulted in a couple of hours where I could not get warm. Lots of layers of clothing, the heating on full and a couple of Paracetamol (Acetaminophen ). This was followed by an hour stripped to the waist sitting in front of a fan with the windows open. After that I felt pretty normal.
Minor in comparison with what getting the diseases does.

Yesterday we drove over an hour into Queens to get our first covid vaccine at the NYPD Police Academy where my son works... they allowed the parents of the police to get their shot without having having to jump through hoops...
Since we were close by, we went to visit the remains of the Worlds Fair, thankfully I had my little camera with me to get these shots... It was a very grey day, so I hope when we go back for the second shot, the sun is shining and maybe I can get better shots...

According to the CDC, vaccination has prevented about 3/4 million deaths among children in the United States over a 20-year period and has saved many times that many illnesses.
The prevented deaths and hospitalizations save nearly $300 billion in direct costs and over at trillion dollars in indirect costs.

Some people don't want the vaccine because they "are not sure about the evidence or the safety".
Over 5 Million people have died worldwide. More than 8.23 billion doses have been administered across 184 countries. How much more proof do you need?
Early signs suggest the Omicron Covid variant is more transmissible than the current Delta strain.
There are currently 437 confirmed cases of Omicron in the UK, figures show.
Earlier, Wales' health minister said they were expecting a significant wave of Omicron that would peak in January.
In Scotland, Covid rules are going to be reviewed daily as Omicron cases rise, and First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has urged employers to let staff work from home until at least the middle of January where possible.
Scientists believe Omicron could spread more easily than Delta, and could out-compete Delta to become the dominant variant in the UK.
But much is still unknown, and it could still take weeks to understand how severe illness from the variant is and what it means for the effectiveness of vaccines.

Threatened me with what appeared to be a sandwich.
I said, No.
