Here's one from an afternoon trip to Åva-Stensjödal, trying to shoot demoiselles. I got some shots, but it didn't really work out the way I wanted and while walking through high grass next to the creek a saw a couple of spreadwing damselflies here and there.
As a consolation prize, I tried shooting one of them, thinking it was a common spreadwing (Lestes sponsa) - but when editing, the way the second segment of the abdomen is only partially blue, it turns out this instead is a male roboust spreadwing (Lestes dryas) - A species I believe I haven't shot before!
I think the colours came out just plain great here and the detail is awesome on the compound eyes too if you zoom in. I suppose the moral of the story is that sometimes consolation prizes can be just as good.
The snowdrop anemone (Anemone sylvestris) looks quite a lot like the wood anemone - but is significantly larger.
The raft spider (Dolomedes fimbriatus) is one of Sweden's two largest spiders - but since this is a juvenile, it is way smaller than it will (hopefully) become in a couple of years.

Male(V6) andFemale(V7) juvenile ospreys.These young ospreys had recently fledged late July a few years ago from a nest on Esthwaite Water in the Lake District.Both birds had been ringed before leaving the nest.The male bird is on the left above and the larger female on the right.The birds were perching near to the nest site awaiting their parents returning with food. They were photographed from a rowing boat available nearby.An exciting encounter.The birds still use the same lakeside nest site.

I was shooting buttterflies in the oregano (Origanum vulgare) when I noticed this white little lady waiting to spring an ambush.
Since she was fairly small, I suspect she was more hoping for a bee or perhaps a hoverfly to come within her reach than a butterfly, but she still made for a good photo.
The species is called the goldenrod crab spider (Misumena vatia) and this is a female. The male is significantly smaller and coloured differently, like here: www.flickr.com/photos/tinyturtle/50033851053/

Cyrtopogon lateralis is a species of robber fly which I have only seen once before.
This one had caught a leaf hopper which I've been told is one in the Balclutha genus and given where this was found, it has to be B. rhenana or B. punctata. The hopper must have been very tasty because the fly kept coming back to the same rock with it to have lunch.
I closed in and tried to get a good shot (some successfully) and it took off, only to loop back and land on the same rock again and then we kept repeating that over and over again.

I took some criticism, i fixed the one awkward bohrok shield on the side, now he has two. But i left the trans-purple on the arms lol

On the day of departure my Taiwanese friend surprised me by calling this special Luxgen V7 taxi. The Luxgen V7 is essentially an M7 with a raised roof and mostly meant for taxi purposes. Here it is parked in front of my old university in Taipei (NCCU).

Chinese name: 长安悦翔V7 (cháng'ān yuèxiáng V7)
Year of launch: 2014
Changan is the best-selling local carmaker in China, being strong in both passenger cars and commercial vans/cheap MPVs. Changan has a wide SUV-range, consisting of the CS15, CS35, CS55, CS75 and CS95, as well as the value-oriented CX70.
Together with SAIC, FAW and Dongfeng, Changan is considered one of the 'big four' of China, referring to the largest car producers in production volume (including production for foreign joint venture partners like VW, Peugeot-Citroën, Honda, Toyota, Nissan or in case of Changan: Ford, Peugeot-Citroën (DS Automobile only), Mazda and Suzuki.
Changan was allegedly founded in 1862 as a gun store and assembled a jeep from the late 1950s. Changan has one of the largest model ranges of indigenous models as well. Changan currently has a passenger car and commercial car label, both named Changan, but distinguished by a different logo.

This is the impressively large inflorescence of the purple angelica (Angelica gigas) with a bunch of western honey bees (Apis mellifera) on it.
The fav part though is the commpon wasp (Vespula vulgaris) which was coming in for a landing. Doesn't really look that elegant with the landing gear out like that, does it?
