Four seasons of events, exhibitions and new commissions celebrating the idea of Utopia to mark the 500th anniversary of Sir Thomas More's influential book.
The term utopia was coined in Greek by Sir Thomas More in his 1516 book, Utopia, describing a fictional island in the Atlantic Ocean. The word is now used to describe a non-existent society that is intended to be viewed as considerably better than contemporary society.
It seemed a popular exhibition for english and tourists alike.
Basically stamped out during the puritanical Mao Zedong era, prostitution flourishes in today's more open China, with estimates of the country's sex workers ranging as high as 10 million or more, plying their trade with virtual impunity in bars, massage spas, karaoke parlours.

The building has been painted with the entire text of Utopia by Thomas More, by local artist Rory Macbeth. It is shortly to be demolished.
