This hat was made with my new favorite yarn Dream in Color. I used the Utopia Hat pattern.

I am often frustrated that I am living in the middle of a massive city, and though I am proud to call UCLA my home, I find myself dreaming about adventures though unexplored areas of forests, mountains, and waterfalls. I am starting to find, however, that beauty can be found even in large, industrialized cities like Los Angeles if you take the time to look for it. I found this scene on my campus right along the path I take to class everyday. I squeezed though some unnoticed bushes and found myself in a new land of blossoming wildflowers and massive trees. The surrounding foliage shrouded the campus view and revealed only the peak of an elegant UCLA structure complimented by calming sunset light and flowers. For a moment I had escaped the city. For a moment I had found my utopia.

I found the great background of flowers on deviant, and felt inspired to do this. The hair alone was 57 layers, including the braids and different sections overlapping. The photo was frankied out of 5 images.
I'd love to know what you guys think about the hair, it was really difficult for me to do and took over 3 hours.
