I have taken my camera building passion to new heights.
Utilizing high energy proton acceleration I managed to create a camera capable of taking photos beyond the constraints of time and space.
As the heavens prepare for an imminent downpour, nature paints a breathtaking scene in the mountains of Tuscany.
Italy experiences a period of intense rainfall as dark clouds dominate the sky. The relentless downpour transforms the landscape, turning streets into temporary rivers and fields into saturated patches of earth. People navigate through the rain, seeking shelter and utilizing umbrellas and raincoats to stay dry. The heavy rainfall showcases the power and unpredictability of nature, reminding us of our vulnerability in the face of natural forces.
A Sunday stroll past flocks of sheep.
In comparison to other German states, Baden-Württemberg, along with Hesse, Bavaria, and Schleswig-Holstein, stands out as a focal area for sheep and goat farming. In Schleswig-Holstein, sheep are primarily kept on dykes to maintain a short turf and compact the soil with their hooves. In contrast, Baden-Württemberg predominantly utilizes extensive sheep breeds in migratory shepherding for landscape management. The sheep herds migrate to different grazing areas according to the vegetative season: in the summer, for instance, they graze on the orchard meadows and the sparse, dry grasslands of the Swabian Jura. Without the sheep, juniper heaths, sparse and dry grasslands, and sloping terrains would risk becoming overgrown with shrubs and trees. However, across Baden-Württemberg and the entire country, sedentary sheep farming prevails.

These roses are a climbing variety, and they utilize other trees and shrubs for their support. A few of these roses are in single bushes, but most are seen cascading down from the branches of other vegetation...
Tumon Bay is a bay in the United States territory of Guam, opening to the Philippine Sea. It is bounded to the north by Two Lovers Point and to the south by Ypao Point. The entirety of the bay falls within the Tumon Bay Marine Preserve, also known as the Tumon Bay Marine Preserve Area (MPA) and Tumon Preserve, one of five marine preserves on Guam. The Preserve measures 4.54 square kilometers and is roughly two miles long. The platform of the fringing reef that separates the open ocean from the lagoon is up to 1,450 feet (440 m) wide. and up to one mile from the shore. The bay is located off of the Tumon area, the tourist center of the island, in the village of Tamuning. The bay is extensively utilized for recreation and fishing.

This is an image of Westlake Park, located in the city center of Seattle. During this time of year, the park features illuminated trees and constructed, life-size Christmas presents, ornaments, and trees through which people can walk! Apparently, over 80,000 light bulbs are utilized to light up the park!
The title of the image is a parody of the popular Christmas carol, "A Holly Jolly Christmas", because, as you can see, almost everyone in the image is practicing some form of social distancing. Whether this was a coincidence or not, it was intriguing to observe.
Due to the pandemic, the holiday mood and spirit are very much subdued this year compared to previous seasons -- as is probably the same case in cities and towns around the world.
Nevertheless, it was heartwarming to see many parts of the downtown neighborhood here in Seattle sparkling and glistening in spite of our circumstances.
My latest blog article features several festive images of Seattle during the holiday season this year: "Happy Holly Jolly Holidays!"

Increasingly, these spheres took on an aspect of "Abstract Surrealism", something Max Ernst was a master of. His work in this area, toward the end of his life, is largely ignored and an over-looked body of extremely important art. At least I think so.

Utilizing a trackage rights agreement established in 1985, a Union Pacific Sharp, Utah - Valmy, Nevada coal train exits the Provo Sub and enters Rio Grande's eastward main track at Lakota Junction on a snowless Dec. 8, 1990 afternoon in rural Utah County.
I often utilize the Ferries for transportation, and this time was parked by an opening. Guarding against the splash, and 90 degrees to the sun, gave my polarizer an optimal angle. I then worked on a presentable composition between the waves created by the Ferry and the snow peaked mountains. The wave became a leading line with snow capped mountains, the destination.

Not utilized for decades in passenger service, the Holly Depot has set unused and somewhat forlorn for years between the former GTW (now CN) Holly Sub and the former Pere Marquette (now Lake State) Saginaw Sub in the heart of town. After striking a sneaky deal with the village of Holly, the depot was sold to the village with the stipulation that it be moved off of railroad property. That move will happen this summer or fall, making scenes like this one no longer possible. Coming north into the fast falling sun, X251 comes into a hole in the shadows as they pass the depot heading north with a solid train of loaded racks for the IHB at Gibson.
Utilizing SD40-2 No. 6383 as a shoving platform, Wheeling & Lake Erie's train No. 617 slowly backs empty coke cars down the Matt Branch at Speers, PA on Sept. 18, 2021. At the coke plant at Monessen, the empties will be exchanged for loads.
Try to utilize playing the different layers of single color as a metaphor of faded love, when love was away, one's heart would be lost , just like the flowers faded out , the color faded away.
Utilized the CPL filter here stacked on the ND filter to get the muted reflection and details there under the pool of water in the reflection. Had the camera pretty low to the ground for this POV as well.

After months of discussing the logistics of making this happen with Steven, and his coordination with GLC, when it finally happened we had something that neither of us planned on: A makeshift lake. After getting insidious amounts of rain the previous 48 hours to the tune of 5 inches, all that rain had no where to go except collect in the yard for us to utilize. With lights staged and pushed to the limits, limits I have never taken them to before, the calm wind made the perfect setting.

BNSF vehicle train V TACLPC1 24F punches through the solid basalt hole known as Drano Tunnel (Tunnel #2) near Cook, WA, in the Columbia River Gorge. Drano Tunnel is the first of five tunnels the train will pass thorugh in the next 3 miles as it and parallel Washington Route 14 navigate the narrow confines of land crammed between the northern bank of the Columbia River and numerous rock formations, lakes, and steep slopes. CREX 1206 is working rear-end DPU duty, shoving hard to get the autoracks rolling at track speed after holding for Amtrak on the fast-paced and heavily utilized Fallbridge Subdivision.
A significant place utilized by the Snuneymuxw people for thousands of years and traditionally known as Saysutshun, Newcastle Island is a wondrous escape from the bustling urban center of Nanaimo just across the harbour.
Alongside the strong First Nations presence and culture on the island, it is also home to many rich histories which include coal mining, a sandstone quarry, and herring salteries, all of which make Newcastle Island a must-see eco-tourism destination for those visiting Nanaimo.
The large four-winged flying fortress utilized by the Torumekian military of the Nausicaa movie and manga. The ship features a large lower cockpit with space for several crew as well as a rear troop deployment space and several turrets toward the front and back. The Corvette is shown to be quite agile for its size and ancient mechanical components, but maneuvers tend to come at the cost of the lives of some of the crew.
I've wanted to make this vehicle for over two years, and I'm really glad that it's finally finished. The model has a wingspan and length of over two feet, and I hope to bring it to some Lego expos this year. Thanks for looking!

Being a 28mm photographer I am definitely not used to using this 105mm vintage glass. But that was the fun of it. Trying to utilize my standard composition style with a different system.
Kodak gold is a sweet film, but if I'm going to shoot color analog I would prefer Portra. Until such time someone brings back Kodachrome. What is your favorite film?

Have you noticed that sometimes aspen seem to be watching us?
This is a composite, slud quite a bit in Lr and then in Ps.
The original, seen below in the first comment box (and if that comment doesn't show, hitting the browser's refresh button should do the trick), is an intentional camera movement image.
Using a pretty slow shutter speed, and panning the camera vertically created the original image.
The result of sliding in Lr is the next image in the first comment box. Clarity and Vibrance sliders were utilized. Tone curve sliders were adjusted.
At the same time that I had created the intentional camera movement image, I had also made some standard still images of this group of aspen.
In Ps, I composited in bits of the same trees from the still image, using masks, then sliding opacity.
I've often talked about using luminosity alpha channels to constrain adjustments to areas based on luminosity. I had created those channels and used them to increase contrast only within the mid tones, leaving the brightest and darkest tones untouched from the version created in Lr. Googling for Tony Kuyper's tutorials will give lots of wonderful information.
Lastly, I felt that the image was too far toward the yellow and green end of the color temperature range, so a photo filter adjustment layer was added with a magenta filter at the top of the Ps layer stack. And of course its density and opacity sliders were adjusted.
I hope your sliders sunday is going well. I haven't been able to be online much in the past few weeks. Work has been extremely busy. I've been needing to go in early and so have been unable to post to groups and properly view and comment on photos. So I haven't felt right about posting and running. Been getting home late after work and so haven't even had time to be working on photos. We've been helping friends move. We've had friends in and out of the hospital.
So today is especially appreciated. I haven't gone in to work, I'm staying home, and I get to now go visit the sliders sunday pool and see the intriguing images everyone has posted!

„CLAY AND SEED
A collaboration of art, utilizing 3D, 2D, and Text. For the Clay and Seed exhibit, Bamboo Barnes chose to focus on 2D artwork, Lilia Artis on poetry, and Haveit Neox on sculpture and architecture. The goal was to have these disciplines unite into a single work, which in this case of three like-minded artists, occurred organically.
Haveit’s galleries provide the supporting walls for Bamboo’s imagery, while Lilia’s poetry garnishes the windows of these clay buildings and thus closes the circle. During the process, each artist’s work contained a seed of inspiration for the other two. Being admirers of each other’s works for many years, it seems destiny smiled on these three with the opportunity to share their visions together and in an art region that inspired their creativity.

New Topographics photographers utilized document style image making " to provide a format for the emerging ecological consciousness" which was evolving in the 70's.
Indeed many interviews show "they were not environmentalists, but rather they simply were artists making pictures in places that interested them."

Sometimes it is fun to travel on my computer. Especially in winter when the days are short and cold! This is an image created by utilizing Google Maps Streetview.
It’s raining pretty good in the Allegheny Mountains of Pennsylvania on October 21, 1988, but I was still out taking photos, as it was my first time to see this former Pennsylvania Railroad main line over the mountains. A Conrail TV (Trailvan) piggyback train thunders upgrade past MG Tower between Altoona and Gallitzin, utilizing a pair of Conrail SD45-2s as a point helper giving the road power much needed traction upgrade on wet rails.
Pan Am's BFPO rumbles through Brattleboro, VT, utilizing trackage rights over the New England Central between East Northfield, MA, and Bellow Falls, VT for this once a week unit slurry train. The old brick buildings of Brattleboro make a nice backdrop as one of the few painted Pan Am C40s leads this train, running almost ten hours late. Ironically, this trackage was once owned by Guilford (Pan Am's predecessor), but poor maintenance and several Amtrak derailments led to the property being seized by Amtrak, and resold to the Central Vermont, with Guilford retaining trackage rights over the line.
