The is certainly the feeling I had hiking the Toadstool Hoodoos in Kanab Utah. This other worldly area with those big rocks balanced on top of the hoodoos. Mother Nature does some amazing things!

View of the spectacular Bryce Canyon with its red rocks. This park is situated around two hours drive far from Zion National Park and is a must believe me.

Weather finally cleared up after a week of cloudy nights, and I was itching to get some night photography done. As soon as I saw the clear skies above I headed out to the park. Brought a couple lights to light up the arch and started shooting.
Another photographer ended up seeing my lights and came over to see what was up and ended up shooting with me for a couple hours. Made it more enjoyable having someone to talk to and bounce ideas off.

I had just finished climbing angels landing and was hiking back down. These two girls at a lookout stopped me asking to take a photo of them together, which I was glad to do. We talked for a bit before heading our ways, by that time, that the sun was setting and the last little bit of light was catching the peaks of the mountain range, into the distance.

Canyonlands national park, Utah. Everyone was headed to the main sunset lookout spot, and I wanted something different so iI scouted around for a bit and found this area, where no one was. People would pull up, get out and snap a pic, before continuing to the area where everyone else was crowding. Having the place to my self allowed me to explore around and try different angle without worry.

This shot doesn't need much explanation, as its the most famous of its kind on the planet. It is much larger than I thought it would be. I got setup just in time for happy hour. No, no, no I mean the golden hour. That high desert light makes for jaw dropping sunrises and sunsets.
This is a 5 exposure (1ev @ f/13) HDR crunched with Photomatix. I also employed the use of a 2 stop, soft HiTech grad filter. And cleaned it up some in Lightroom Dos.

In among the Hoodoo's in Bryce Canyon. The way the light comes in and bounces off the surrounding rock walls in the canyon giving a very pleasant orange glow.

Along the Highway 24, going to Highway 70 (Utah) we have seen this delicious little rock formation alone in the field with a beautiful blue sky... and ONE white cloud, giving a minimalist landscape and a beautiful contrast.

Here is another star photo from Arches national park. Found this while scouting around one night looking for places to shoot. I tried lighting up the rocks but felt it was better as a silouette, adds more mystery.

Along the Highway 12, Utah State, going to Highway 24, this wonderful canyon on the left side of the road is a delight to my eyes.

View on the paths inside Bryce Canyon park. If you like hiking, Bryce is a wonderful park for this activity. Trails are secure and provide great views on all the red rocks. There are a little bit of white snow, Bryce is located 8 000 feet high.
