One Friday Arn had his entire team from Microsoft over for a party at our house. It was fun to have everyone in. It was a kind of sausage and beer tasting thing.

This is our stand for 3form at the Plus Birmingham design expo 2006.

 

Rather than simply displaying some of our work we decided to do use the show to put forward some of our thinking on usability.

 

So, we've built our stand on real quotes about what "the user" needs in terms of design for the web or other interactive situations.

 

Someone left us a very amusing message at the opening party. The central screen has no mouse or keyboard and permanently displays a loading bar...

“The Apple I computer was designed by electronics hobbyist Steve Wozniak. It was sold for $666.66 and included only the main board and the manual shown here. The purchaser needed to provide a power supply, keyboard and monitor. Users came up with innovative “cases” for the board, including plywood boxes and off-the-shelf briefcases!”
