Walmart's pricing just plain stinks on some tech items. They were charging $20 for this 10ft USB printer cable, on clearance. You can get an equivalent cable (also with gold connectors!) from Monoprice for $1.43.

long USB A-B cable by Kevin Bralten

Since our printer, and it's print server are about 30ft apart, this is our "screw you USB spec" cable. About 35-40ft of CAT5 cable with USB ends attached, using two strands for each signal.

Given that the printer also supports RS232, you should probably build a CAT5 based serial cable instead, but USB works well for what we need.
