Ursa beach is the most beautiful beach I have ever been, although the path to the beach is not easiest one. Highly recommend if you are visiting in Lisbon/Sintra.

M81 (the big object in the middle) and M82 (the smaller one slightly higher); two galaxies in the Ursa Major constellation, around 12 million light years from earth. The hazy patches all throughout is instellar dust (or intergalactic dust if you will) in the region.
Image acquisition details:
Quite a number of different exposure times were taken because of the large variation of brightness in the frame; but it accounts to a total exposure time of roughly 11 hours.

Another spooky shot from the French countryside. Burnt out windows, thick haze and the Ursa Major in the sky, al together are combined to create a daunting atmosphere. Gonneville-sur-Scie, France. October '15.
Both bears wish two Flickr friends a happy birthday in the past few days....
The roses are no longer fresh, but it's the gesture that counts.
Happy birthday and long life!
Nestled between dramatic cliffs and the incessant roar of the Atlantic, Praia da Ursa is an unspoilt corner of natural beauty. Here the sea meets the land in an eternal dance, sculpting monumental cliffs that stand like guardians of an ancient sanctuary.
Legend has it that its name comes from a rock formation that once resembled the figure of a bear and her cub. This landscape is not only a gift of geography, but also the wild and untamed spirit of a coast where silence is broken only by the sound of the waves and the whisper of the wind.
Looking at this landscape is an invitation to introspection, to connect with the essence of the natural world and to contemplate the sublime power of nature.
***

And Ursa Major, my favorite constellation in all its glory. We need a very clear night sky to see it in its entirety.
A hidden gem with very difficult access what keeps it from been visited often and heavily even on the busiest times of the year. This tiny bit of paradise will probably remain untouched by the aggressive human´s hand for a lot more years.
Ursa Minor (Latin: "Lesser Bear", contrasting with Ursa Major), also known as the Little Bear, is a constellation in the Northern Sky. Like the Great Bear, the tail of the Little Bear may also be seen as the handle of a ladle, hence the North American name, Little Dipper: seven stars with four in its bowl like its partner the Big Dipper. It was one of the 48 constellations listed by the 2nd-century astronomer Ptolemy, and remains one of the 88 modern constellations. Ursa Minor has traditionally been important for navigation, particularly by mariners, because of Polaris being the north pole star.

Ursa Major constellation shines brightly above Winkie Lighthouse at the Point of Ayre. During autumn the constellation sits in a really favourable position in the northern evening skies. This shot was captured at 35mm and utilises a diffusion filter to increase the glow of prominent stars 🌟

despite any other suitable deep sky objects, it's now galaxy season :)
on this wide field shot of the outer Ursa Major region, you can clearly spot M81 and M82, but also on the right side NGC2976 and NGC3077 on the lower left, both too small for my 400mm focal length - but still visible. and if you really try you can imagine the faint dust of Holmberg IX next to M81.

This forest talks…
I can hear it crying for help.
My lineage has lived in it for centuries.
Endured the tyranny and greediness of humans.
My dad taught us that we must stand and defend life. Above everything.
That every living being deserves to be protected.
In nature, the cycle of life and death is unavoidable.
Hunters and preys, everyone has their own role to play.
But humans are determined to control it. To manipulate it.
Only to satisfy their ego and ambition.
We must not let them.
I will not let them.
I must protect this sacred forest.
No matter the cost.
