Double double toil and trouble, fire burn and cauldron bubble. Not that I wish such doom mongered prescient thought onto today, as I’m off for a MRI (horrible things), to look at my prostate. I’ve had one before for my back problems and to say the experience is weird is an under statement. The experience I could do with out but you have to marvel at the science. Nine years ago when I first had my problems diagnosed you would need an invasive biopsy to detect if a common benign aliment is a bit more sinister. Now you can have a MRI diagnostic, which isn’t rock solid but well on the way to decide if you need more invasive probing about. To be honest with my preliminary prodding and probing I don’t think I have any think more to worry about and this MRI is just a pathway to seeing a Urologist to discuss other options for my toil and trouble. Anyway enough about my day ahead, don’t you think weird sisters is a good title of this cluster of oaks I came across on a Lakeland fell last November.

it's me, welcoming a patient to a prostate examination :)

Sadly, this is only a plumbing shop, but if my urologist had a sense of humour he'd get a sign like this one.

Yesterday, October 10th, 2022, I finally got a message from my Urologist saying I was cancer free. :-)

This all started about two years ago. I was out taking fox pictures and was suddenly almost doubled over with pain.

I went home and used the bathroom. My urine was blood red. That is when everything started going downhill.

I went in for a round of tests. It was discovered that I had a 7mm Kidney Stone that was going require a hospital visit to shatter it and remove it.

While they were doing the Sonogram, they discovered a tumor in my bladder and scheduled another hospital visit to remove it and scrape away any bad tissue. They then told me I would have to start doing Chemo every week.

I have had a total of 14 Chemo treatments in the last two years.

Lucky for me, the chemo didn’t really cause me any major problems, other then being tired all the time and slightly light headed.

My last Chemo treatment was back in February. Then they checked my bladder using a camera to see what was going on in my bladder.

That was around the end of March. Everything looked good! But, they scheduled another look for September 30th and that was when everything went bad.

That was a Friday. After returning home, I felt some pain and burning when I urinated. Also, I was feeling slightly light headed.

Jan, wanted me to call the doctor. I decided to wait till Sunday and see if it cleared up. It didn’t. I felt worse.

But, being stubborn, I kept putting off calling. Then when I did call I got voice mail and left a message.

By Monday I was miserable, but, got through the day.

Tuesday morning, Jan, was getting really worried. I was still in denial. I didn’t want to end up in the hospital. Finally, a nurse from Urology contacted me and suggested I should drop off a urine sample the next day.

As I was still talking to her I started to shake, violently!!!

I was having trouble talking. She told my wife I should probably go to the ER.

I gave Jan the phone and headed into the bathroom.

Jan, was already calling the EMT’s for an Ambulance.

I finished in the bathroom and was using the door casing to help pull myself up……

That was the last thing I remembered. Next time, I was awake, I was laying in a bed in the ER looking at the ceiling.

I don’t remember the EMT’s coming. I don’t remember them carrying me down the stairs and out to the ambulance.

Nothing…….. I was completely out of it for at least 45 minutes. Scary!!!

Somehow, when I got my last bladder check something happened and I contracted a life threatening infection.

I remember the doctor pointing out some tiny yellow spots. He said, it was a slight infection, but, shouldn't be a problem. I asked if he should give me a prescription for some antibiotics. He never answered...........

The infection got into my bloodstream and went Septic.

I was in the ER till Thursday afternoon. They originally were saying I wouldn’t be released till Saturday or Sunday. But, I think I got a early release because they didn’t have any rooms or beds. Thursday afternoon, they finally decided that I could go home and self medicate. When I checked out, there were still 25 people waiting to beds and rooms. I spent the whole time I there in an Admitting Bed in one of three different rooms I was moved to.

I am still feeling weak, tired and light headed. But, each day I do feel better.

I want to Thank everyone for their Prayers, Thoughts, Comments. I really do appreciate them.

Also, I want the say, that that little fox and her family have helped immensely to get me through these last two years.

Gave me something to look forward to. Get me out of bed in the morning. Get my mind off problems.

Tomorrow is October 12th. I will be 78 years old. WOW!!! Time flies.

The lettering on the window spells Spizzerinctum. At one time, there was another business in the town of Randsburg with the same name, that evidently was an antique store. Perhaps this one is an antique store too. I had never heard the word before, but the word spizzerinctum means chutzpah, guts, zest for life and will to succeed! I had no idea! Wilbur thought it might be a condition for which one might need to consult a urologist!

The metal plaque on the fence contains a quote from the poet Sam Walter Foss, 1858-1911: "Let me live in my house by the side of the road and be a friend of man."

Happy Fence Friday!

The stairs in the living quarters of a decaying mansion of a German urologist. The doc had quite a taste for colors, hadn't he? Or was it his wife, maybe? After all, this location is known and famous among Urbexers as Villa Anna...

This photo looks like dusk...it was actually a very pretty day at about 10am. I spent December 8, 2009, my 44th birthday in Druid Ridge Cemetery, Baltimore, Maryland. It was cold, lovely and there was snow on the ground. It was perfect!

Druid Ridge Cemetery is located just outside the city of Baltimore in Pikesville, Maryland at 7900 Park Heights Avenue, Baltimore Co., MD 21208. Among its monuments and graves are several noted sculptures by Hans Schuler and the final resting places of:

A little better photo of the babies today.

I'm also doing much better today. Had a bout last night(4:00am) that was the most painful... I actually called the emergency room for any advice. They suggested lots of fluids and maybe a warm bath. I took a "HOT" bath and it was wonderful. I was able to sleep a couple hours anyway. This must have been around the area that I past the stones. Because the urologist today ordered a second CAT scan and they were gone. He showed me where the large one they were most concerned about was

Now I just have to go back for follow up test to determine the cause and what action to take to prevent them from returning... I'm sure it's my eating habits... he says, as he's finishing his glass of Pepsi.

seen from above in Richmond B.C.

taken from the waiting room of my urologist, I was the only female, I counted ten men waiting also :)

I always get a little antsy when one comes up on me pretty quickly but it sure is a relief when they go on around. I was on my way to see my urologist so no way was I speeding anyhow...

This decaying mansion of an urologist is one of the eeriest places I have been so far, because everythings is still there. The whole life of the doc and his family spread out in front of you. Abandoned since decades but every minute detail still available (even a half empty bottle of egg-liquor). Here you see a stack of handwritten letters, neatly bound together as a book. If you can decipher the handwriting and if you can understand German, you could get lost for hours with this book alone...

Urbex is short for Urban Exploration. It is the act of going to and exploring lost and forgotten places that are not visited and often even inaccessible to the general public. Such places include abandoned factories, hospitals, schools, offices and other derelict buildings, unused nuclear bunkers, old military buildings, disused rail yards etc. The real urbexer will NOT break anything in (or to get into) these places. In fact that is considered VERY bad form. But if access can be obtained without causing any damage, then that's considered fair game. Vandalism and graffiti are NOT allowed. It's like nature photography: Leave only footprints, take only pictures.

Some doctors have the coolest names!

I think this may be a crabapple tree. But whatever it is; it's full of blooms. Good report from the urologist this morning. I am on the mend!

This is me: with my second catheter of the week. After surgery, the first was removed yesterday afternoon, but then, when I couldn't urinate overnight, I went to ER in the middle of the coldest night of the year.

A new catheter was installed, and now I shall wait to call my urologist when office hours resume on Monday.

Thinking of you dear folk, I cropped away the rest of the bag. You're welcome.

A few months ago I retired from Yosemite National Park. The Workplace Mobbing and Whistleblower retaliation there was over the top. But, just leaving the job doesn’t stop the harassment for Government Whistleblowers.

I rented a Uhaul truck, car dolly and moved to Grand Junction, Colorado. I called the VA Hospital there before I left Yosemite and they said; sure we’d be glad to have you. Once I reached Grand Junction, I called again, so everything was supposed to be transferred. It didn’t happen. After a few weeks I received a call from my new primary care doctor. He asked why I moved to Grand Junction and went on to tell me that it was the smallest VA Hospital in the system. He then tried encouraging me to go to the Denver VA (One that’s at the bottom of the ratings). He continued to tell me they didn’t have a Rheumatologist and they were months backed up for Urology. With a high PSA test, it still took me 11 weeks to see a urologist, then he tells me, he will be gone for 2 weeks. Prior to that I spoke with a Patients Advocate and addressed the shortcomings, so the VA lab miraculously loses my urine sample. Not only that; I had haters and baiters (Hospital Staff and Vets) harassing me, getting in my face (no distancing), ignoring at check-in, fake coughing behind and almost on me. One man in the pharmacy line, was in my face (I asked him to please keep his distance), he tells me “If you don’t like it leave”. I addressed this to a staff member standing right there. He tells me I should speak to the Patients Advocate. If it were me, VA Police would have had me locked up. Once again; Selective Policing.

Anyway, after 3 months, still no Rheumo, 2 no call returns from the Patient’s Advocate, repeated harassment and retaliation in the Hospital and the RV Park, I was staying at. I decided to head to Arizona in search of better care. Like it can’t get any worse. On our way to the Prescott AZ, VA Hospital; Koda and I received harassment all along the way. One of many, a prior post about Arizona Amy. We had many Amys and BillyBobs along the way. We had the Big Trucks with Big Flags mobbing us along the way. We had Selective Policing too. At every Walmart we stopped to stock up on supplies and Boondock in their lots; we were Mobbed by Walmart staff and many others. We were baited at every corner and blocked in every aisle. This is easily seen on the many cameras, but again; in America we have Selective Policing. The parking lots were like a stupid fest; big diesel trucks chasing us down, to fill our lungs with exhaust and Amys practically wearing nothing baiting and hating.

Koda and I pulled up to the entrance of the Prescott Arizona VA. There was a perp waiting just before the gate, the Gate Guard had cones set up all over the place, making it as narrow as can be. We pulled up in our 35 foot motorhome, with car and dolly attached. He saw Koda in his passenger seat and blurted out “No Dogs On Campus”. He said “You’re going to have to back up and turn around in that lot. It was a small lot (where the perp was waiting), I had cars behind me and there was no way I could back my rig with dolly, clear back to that lot. I told him that and asked if I could just pull ahead to where I could turn around some place and I would leave. He started cursing and walked away. He came back and said he would have to call VA Police, so he did. I waited, the Police came and escorted me to where I could make a u-turn and leave.

It left a bad taste in my mouth, so Koda and I stayed in Prescott Valley for a few days. The weather turned real cold so we headed south and ended up in Orical AZ. We boondocked there for a week. I posted a couple pics; the sunrise and sunsets were remarkable. It didn’t take long for the big trucks and perps to show up and start harassing Koda at every opportunity. We endured it, took our morning and evening walks and got some nice pictures.

This morning I did my Google Maps request for Gilbert Arizona (I had researched it the week). As we were getting ready to pull out onto AZ 79, around the bend comes a VA highly marked and painted transport car. This was 90 miles south of Gilbert AZ, but it drove ahead of us to Gilbert. This is the kind of psychological harassment Government Whistleblowers receive.

So, here Koda and I are; boondocking in a Gilbert AZ, Walmart parking lot, being surrounded by hate and ignorance. We were mobbed in the store, just like so many others. Tomorrow I’ll try to get transferred to the Gilbert AZ, VA; for some much needed care.

I tell you this not for sympathy or empathy. I tell you this, because there are so many that suffer the same inhumane harassment and retaliation. They may be unable or unwilling to speak of it; because of the extreme retaliation and possible false labeling by VA physicians. All you have to do is turn on the evening news; then try to tell me how far fetched this is. You can see overweight white men (probably with small penises), waving AR 15s in the streets as police drive right by. Or overweight white men (probably with small penises), revving and racing big trucks with big flags; filling the air with exhaust and forcing others off the road.

Thanks for visiting my photostream.

On what was perhaps the most photographically eventful day of my trip to the Pacific Northwest, at Second Beach, Marc Adamus beckoned pointed to this massive rock next to the Sea Stack and said, “Rajesh, come with me, you have the right kind of lens for this place”. Without hesitation I followed him knowing fully well that there were several people who lost their cameras to the Ocean at this very spot.

We had witnessed some incredibly powerful wave action at the Seal Rocks Beach in Oregon but the waves here were quite something else. Imagine sitting on the inside of washing machine during the Wash/Rinse cycle only in fast forward. It was an intimidating sight to behold and I am sure very few people have witnessed it though they might have seen this rock from the shore.

Photographing the waves here takes all the grace of a ballerina, agility and strength of a marathon runner and a photographer who knows how to use their equipment thoroughly using nothing but muscle memory. I do not qualify for the first two criteria but luckily Chris Moore of Exploring Light Photography joined Marc and I on the rock a short while later. I snapped up this picture of Chris calmly going about the routine of rushing in with the camera on the tripod, set it up, wipe and hold the lens cloth in front of the lens until the last fraction of the second as the wave crashed in to the rocks all the while trying to dodge those cannonball waves. Dr. Chris Moore does have an added advantage of being an Urologist and all his surgical skills were on full display that evening on this rock.

Chart in the Emergency Room Treatment Area on Friday Evening BTW I'm ok except for a UTI that just won't go away and countinues to infect other areas!!!! On another round of antibiotics and have an appointment at the Urologist tomorrow afternoon!!!

The Prime Minister of India hoists the Indian flag on the ramparts of the historical site, Red Fort, Delhi, on August 15. 15 August is a national holiday in India. Government Offices are lit up. Flag hoisting ceremonies and cultural programs take place in all the state capitals. In the cities around the country the national flag is hoisted by politicians in their constituencies. In various private organisations the flag hoisting is carried out by a senior official of that organisation. All over the country, flags are given out to citizens who wear them proudly to show their patriotism towards India. Schools and colleges around the country organise flag hoisting ceremonies and various cultural events within their premises, where younger children in costume do impersonations of their favourite characters of the Independence era. They also have a parade. Families and friends get together for lunch or dinner, or for an outing. Housing colonies, cultural centres, clubs and societies hold entertainment programs and competitions, usually based on the Independence Day theme. Most national and regional television channels screen old and new film classics with patriotic themes on Independence Day.Its a national festival that is celebrated by every Indian irrespective of his/her religion.

I had an early appointment with my Urologist this morning. After it I went for a drive and took photos...I even drove past the Coachella Valley Firebirds arena...which could be done by the end of this year!

This location was on my wishlist for a long time... I had the location already, but it was too far away to visit it during a normal trip.

The last time it was on the planning, but we couldn't make it before sunset, So we skipped it. Untill now.

A little known historical information.

The doctor who lived here was a urologist. Rumours go the doctor died in a car accident and his wife went crazy and therefor could not take care for herself anymore.

As their son works as a doctor and lives in Berlin there is nobody to take care of the villa.

I was amazed by the place.

Waiting [contemplating] room at the urologist’s office in a throwback to 2004.

Sony Cyber shot DSC-W1 [Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar T* 38-114mm f/2.8-5.2.]

I discovered yesterday that the tiger striped cat had her litter on my deck... I discovered this when she chased one of the other cats off. I then looked under the lid I have sitting up there. Sure enough, there they were.

Interestingly, she will only allow "Baby Kitty" to be around. They are sisters from many years ago. "Baby" has been fixed, so that probably has something to do with it. They've always been very close though.

I discovered today that I have kidney stones. Not fun so far. I go to a urologist tomorrow... since the pain had subsided a bit. I decided to do a little flickr time.

This location has been in my mind for a very long time. Just that far to not go there on a regular explore, often scheduled in a trip, but I never got there.

Finally I had the chance to pay Dr. Anna a visit. Expectations were low because it is a known location for some years and most of the times this doesn't do any good to our beloved locations. But I was surprised about the amount of details still inside!

This villa used to be owned by a urologist and his wife and son. The doctor used part of his house to receive patients. The doctor started his practice just after World War I, in the same town, known for it's clean air. In those times, clean fresh air was seen as a way to heal all sorts of physical and even psychological issues.

The doctor met his wife while visiting another part of the country. He was looking for an assistant and housekeeper and met the parents of his future wife. Her parents decided that the good fresh air would be good for her and therefor she joined the doctor back to his hometown. Only a few months later they married and they got a son, who is also doctor nowadays in Berlin.

And then all information about this doctor's family stopped. Next info I found is that the doctor's wife could not take care of herself anymore and moved into a nursing home.

Rumours go that the doctor died in a car accident and that his wife went crazy and therefor could not take care of herself anymore. As their son lives in Berlin there is nobody to take care of the villa.

Thes walls of Dr. Anna talk stories. When you are inside you can almost feel how these people must have been living here. Sad story, but our world is probably full of sad stories...

Why tip someone for a job I'm capable of doing myself? I can deliver food. I can drive a taxi. I can, and do, cut my own hair. I did however, tip my urologist, because I am unable to pulverize my own kidney stones. Dwight Schrute

Today's story and sketch "by me" you see Silver City New Mexico, "EBRA"

Earth Blimp Racing Associations, around the Earth Once Race, no mater

how long it takes. Today is check point #94.

Just above the old city you see the #105 Eye Of Horus Pony Moon Pies Blimp,

and others as they glide over the town founded many, many years ago by the

little grey alien (Marv Gofish) you see piloting a B&R Anion Anti Gravity

Glider.

Marv arrived at this site by accident, A nasty crash caused by Marv's

extreme lack of flying experience, and taking his hands off the flight

controls, while snacking on moon pies, he had packed into this very

glider he borrowed from his brother in law, who was also his wife "Ziha's"

Divorce attorney brother.

About the crash, it was during a very severe weather, nearly zero visibility

storm on that early morning here east of the Continental Divide. Marv

flew into a very dense cloud that had the Pinos Altos Mountain inside of

it. Marv was very lucky and only had a few cuts and abrasions when

he slammed into the control panel. With Marv's medical experience he

always carried a roll of Blue Bandage and quickly stopt the massive

hemorrhaging.

Marv had been a very successful Special Purpose Transplant Urologist at

"AJU" Alien Johnson University Hospital.

But that is a story for another time.

Ziha nor her brother have ever found Marv who has never remarried, but

has many girlfriends and stays busy at his Silver City Eye of Horus

Pony Moon Pie shop.

So until next time when I will be sketching EBRA check point #95

Las Cruces, taa ta the Rod Blog.

Today's We're Here Challenge: Animal Days

Today was a Busy like a Beaver day.

I started off with a visit to my urologist to find the results of recent tests. It looks like we're in a wait and see pattern again. I did some shopping afterward of course took photos all day.

I met Ernesto Ramirez who's art I have admired for a while.
