Anthurium andraeanum is a flowering plant species in the family Araceae that is native to Colombia and Ecuador. A winner of the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit, it is one of the plants listed in the NASA Clean Air Study as effective in removing formaldehyde, xylene, toluene, and ammonia from the air.
Common names for plants in the genus Anthurium include flamingo flower, tailflower, painter's palette, and laceleaf. Its name comes from the Greek words anthos, meaning flower, and oura, meaning a tail, referring to the spadix.
Native to Ecuador and southwestern Colombia, it is also naturalised in other parts of the world. It is found in the Caribbean and Réunion. It is grown as an ornamental plant in the form of many hybrids or horticultural varieties. It is commonly used to make bouquets
A stitched, panoramic, cityscape of New York from the Staten Island Ferry on a beautiful spring day.
I've done an image like this one before but this one has got a lot of geometric corrections in it so it doesn't look like Godzilla has been running around Downtown. :-)
#WindowWednesday
Just beautifully overgrown windows of a house around my corner :) If you zoom in, you can see bunches of blue, ripe grapes on the wild vine at the center :)
Happy Window Wednesday, and Happy Hump day, too, Everyone! Stay safe, take care!

The Monster Building, located in Quarry Bay neighbourhood in Eastern Hong Kong, isn’t actually a single building, but an E-shaped 19-floor complex composed of five interconnected structures: Oceanic Mansion, Fok Cheong Building, Montane Mansion, Yick Cheong Building, and Yick Fat Building. It was built during a population boom in the 1960s to offer housing for low-income residents. The Monster Building has 2443 flats and is home to around 6 thousand people.

This stunning mural, as viewed from an alleyway in the Detroit Eastern Market area, is part of the Murals in the Market project.
sleek and savage, the modern world could lose a little of the mean-ness and get a little more green-ness, like the jungles they have destroyed.

GR III #3: "GR" for GReen ;-) Another one from the (masked) family walk around one of Berlin's most beautiful lakes, the Krumme Lanke. Some lush green, before I'll continue with new architecture from Berlin's inner city (the "cube berlin") next week. I hope this isn't too
vivid and colourful, I know that on some monitors, and especially smartphone or tablet screens, this will probably look much brighter and very vivid, but on my monitor it's just right (yes, I know there are devices / methods for monitor / colour calibration, but... and it's also for Sliders Sunday, so...). Regarding the sliders, I HRDified this in Aurora HDR, tweaked the "Orton Clean" Glow filter in ON1 to my liking, and also tweaked the colours. As I'd mentioned in my description for my previous picture, I must have used "Highlight Weighted Metering" for all the photos I took on that walk, because the bright, sunny and cloudless sky was never blown out, and all the shadows and dark tones were way too dark, but as usual it's always easier to brighten the shadows and dark tones in post, and I was pleasantly surprised at the remarkably clean details and bright tones I was able to get out of the dark areas of the GR III's RAW files.
Happy Sliders Sunday, Everyone, stay safe, stay healthy :-)
We recently returned from a trip to Southeast Asia, with our first stop in the vibrant city of Kuala Lumpur. We had only two nights there, so I was determined to make the most of my chance to photograph the majestic towers. Not too long ago, they held the title of tallest buildings in the world. That time has firmly passed, but interestingly—though not visible in this photo—Kuala Lumpur is now home to the second tallest building in the world.
I decided to leave the neighboring building in the photo... just for some framing and context. perhaps in later versions i will only show the city scape... what do you think?
KL, like many major cities, offers a fascinating mix of cultures and energies. I highly recommend stepping away from the dramatic, majestic business district to explore the neighborhood markets, where the city’s everyday rhythm truly comes alive.
