Reflection deceives. It also enhances and strengthens. Patterns add strength. Bold colors - hot and cold - create even more energy. What we see isn't real - or is it? It all depends on your realm of reference.

Framed by its own infrastructure, this building complex could keep a photographer busy for days upon days. Delightful curves add drama to buildings and structure that cascades into a stunning sky. Repetion and patterns add strength and make my heart sing as my eye seeks every visual delight.
Framed
Reflections in tinted glass and avant garde architecture join forces to make a surreal frame for the potato man. (Inside joke.) Wondrous colors and fun shapes create patterns that delight my eye. Repetition builds strength and textures add substance. Perspective exaggerates a bit. Sharp focus keeps everything viable and it's a shot that becomes eye candy to explore.

Ci siamo quasi, Cima Tauffi non è lontana... e mi volto indietro ad ammirare la bellezza del Libro Aperto.
E SImona scatta.
Inside looking out, framing through rings of light fixtures gives a unique perspective on the cityscape creating an immediate impact. Curves and repetition provide eye paths to explore. Strong vertical lines play with senses as they rise through a horizontal plane and crisscross the oval shapes. Outside, more strong vertical shapes, themselves pattern adorned, anchor the frame and provide depth. Sharp fosuc leaves plenty for my eye to explore.

Sunlight at mid-day penetrating thru the Upper Antelope Canyon, AZ. I was to do several shots in attempting for HDR to get rid of that bright spot upthere, but had to give up due to too many tourists walking back & forth within the frame. Very frustrating to capture one without someone in the way.
My Kingdom...
When I was a little little girl, my father use to sit me on his nees over the top of the walls of a castle. A real one (next photo).
From upthere we could see such a wonderful view to the ricefields down in a large valley - the Mondego fields - and a wonderful smooth river, the Mondego, with a high trees of an enchanted forest on its borders... And everything is still there for centuries...
My father and I in silence watched all this and felt the sweet smell of the wind on our faces. One day I said: "Dad...we could live in this castle, couldn't we?". And he answered: " We can live wherever we want my dear. We live were our heart is. And this castle is your place to live at this moment so you live here. You are the Princess of this Castle and all this view is your kingdom."
My world grew up far and far. But, 40 years later I went to see my kingdom again. My heart still lives there and in everywhere I like (as he told me). But specially in the castle of my father's arms around me.

A window sees and shares at the same time mixing wondrous shapes and colors. Together it creates an altered reality that changes with the light. Round rings draw my eye. Vertical and horizontal lines form their own shapes and patterns that invite exploration. Spatial relationships remain a bit mysterious which here is a good thing. Colors set the mood a bit - stir the senses.

That was taken a couple of years ago, i=I was going through my old stuff and found it, it's magic what you see upthere and if it wasn't for the dirty airplane windows.
Stunning light, architecture and reflections in glass crate a maze of design that delights my eye. I love the sheer power created by bold lines and shapes. The reflections create a mystery that I have to solve.

Getting a different perspective on the same building can be challenging. But when a building has so many cool features and sides, its easy. Keep it simple!

Great boxed alley. Felt like the walls were closing in. But unfortunately the stench of Saturday night was a bit oppressive.
This is from our first run of the season. The shot was taken by Amelia from the back of her sled. Her mom discovered this and several other images from our run on their camera. Just so happened I didn't take my cameras out this day, but Amelia grabbed a nice shot with me up front. I like her team, all girls, Pepsi and Churrie in lead and Shusana behind - three very good dogs. I think maybe Amelia is learning some bad habits from me.
A pool of color and light and shape and wondrous curiosities - up there. Suspended by strength - decorated with lights - outlined in colorful whimsy - it's a scene to capture attention and my imagination.

♫ Por tanto amor, Por tanta emoção
A vida me fez assim
Doce ou atroz, Manso ou feroz
Eu caçador de mim
Preso a canções, entregue a paixões
Que nunca tiveram fim
Vou me encontrar, longe do meu lugar

My Kingdom's castle...
When I was a little little girl, my father use to sit me on his knees over the top of the walls of a castle. This one.

We are lucky enough to live very close to the Monarch Sanctuary and is worth every second the climbing upthere (3000 mt above sea level). They are beautiful, delicate and powerful at the same time (they travel 6000 km every year, al the way from Canada to Mexico)

while on the other side at the bottom of the hill a free try-out yoga class was taking place... quite chaotic looking rather like bodies getting mutilated, not a fair sight at all in fact on a sundaymorning letting out the dog on an empty stomach... while most other people in the park were going there to take a closer look at that, these two children... brother and sister no doubt, looking even like a perfect twin... they had silently climbed the hill, then were running and frisking on it playfully and laughingly in the other direction, above it all and when coming almost to the edge they held still and ever so quietly stood there for a while, overlooking the park on the other side... they were so in awe with the view from upthere... she just touched his arm and held her hand there... next they were running again very lively and cheerfully, their hair blowing to all sides... like the wind was playing with them in fact.
I was shooting it all from a far, in between shooting some wild flowers, from another hillside... little bit too far for my zoom and so I kind of was obliged to process it into something arty in order to show it here, but also otherwise the kids would have been too recognizable without permission... they were so gorgeous, joyous and free! 'Be like kids and you shall see the kingdom of heaven', yeah!!
or maybe the boy just ran up the hill in rather a wild impulse and his little sister, much more careful and caring so much for him, allthough also understanding automaticly and sharing his joy for life, just ran after him kind of knowing somehow she 'ld better... only catched up with him at the edge where he stood still for a second and ever so carefully and quietly layed her hand on his arm saying: 'oh wow, look at that view', distracting him a bit more and making him hold still longer... before maybe he was gonna glide down there on the other side, getting all dirty and even might hurt himself, get their mama angry... maybe she waited just another second, but not any longer, to then just as intuitively take herself the initiative and say with enthusiasm: 'let 's go back ask mam nicely if next we 'll go there at the horses, this yoga-thing is just too boring' and started going back already, like this making him follow her, taken to this better idea... keeping him safe and saving the day out... anyway, it was the view from upthere first taking his breath away that probably made it go all smooth that sunday... so far... with a little help from God... and that from his twinsister whom God had given especially to him, 'cause a dreamy little wild boy like him sure could use the extra love and caring always there by his side!
