This was the upstream view from the same lovely little pebble beach in the Bürser canyon. At this point the trail through the valley ends and another trail takes hikers up to the plateau, and leads them back to the starting point, Bürs.

Porthnanven. The only time we had visited previously was in 2008. That time my Dad was quite frail and we took him for what was to be his last trip to Cornwall; he loved the old tin mines in particular. He couldn't cope with the boulders at Porthnanven so we only spent a short time there. This time we were keen to explore the beach a bit more fully.

This was taken in the river before it reaches the beach. It's amazing how far the boulders have been washed upstream. I'm not sure I'd want to be there in a winter storm!

Well we were on our way back from visiting Myra Falls in Strathcona Park on Vancouver Island and I spotted this tiny falls on the side of the road by seeing the creek flow under the highway. I stopped and made my way upstream to find this beautiful little falls which I have no Idea if it's named or not. Please enjoy and let me know if you have an idea of its name!! Kris...

A view from near the bandstand facing upstream along the River Esk at Whitby towards the swing bridge and the marina. The street lights and the lights from the houses and properties lining the river make for an impressive light show on the waters of the Esk.

I live in Abingdon so not blessed with the beauty of the National Parks and as a lot of people have done I have been doing a lot of local walking the last weeks and started to realise you dont rally apprecaite whats on your doorstep.

So the #10milefromhome project was born, to make it simple I drew a 10 mile radius circle on a OS map and anything within that circle qualifies to be in the project.
