For a few years, Green Herons chose to nest in a spot near the Upper Lobe of the Lake, Central Park, which could be located by looking for the slingshot form above it. This whole area is now under reconstruction, and it will be interesting to find out what the herons make of it in the future.

Green Heron on nest, the Upper Lobe, Central Park Lake (closer look). In 2007, this area has been renamed Bank Rock Bay and is undergoing drastic reconstruction. The annual heron's nest of several years' duration here has probably come to an end.
