UPI Photo - 1969. Two lone chairs sit amid fallen masonry of a building (Synagogue) destroyed during the fighting of 1948 in Jerusalem's Jewish Quarter. This building and several others in the area are being salvaged as part of the Old City's current renaissance program which involves the meticulous reconstruction of ancient Synagogues and historic sites.
