A photo update for all my My Space friends

A small-town book store, now open on Sundays (rare around here), serving a variety of coffees and some pastries, nice places to sit and enjoy it, and a newly added selection of books in Spanish and bilingual in Spanish/English - all of which reflects the people in the community in which it is located. Nice job!

just changed the clip. Whatta think?

Wow it has been a while. For those of you who care in the least here is what has been going on.

I got my GED. Moved out of my parents house, got into college and got engaged. I got another tattoo behind my ear of two music notes, and I got my lip pierced. I don't have a stud in anymore like here in this picture though. I have a ring.

I have a couple of photos i will upload soon, but between classes and my job (I'm a nanny) I have a hard time making time to take pictures. But once things calm down and I get used to my schedule I should be able to pick it back up again.

It seems they'll hack anything these days, including the digital image processor in my Canon A710 IS. Thanks to a firmware update I can now save RAW files from my compact (yes RAW, on a compact!) and play Reversi. One of those two things is more useful than the other.

There are loads of other features unleashed too, if you have a Canon A710 or one of the other cameras with the same image processor you can upgrade your firmware too. The firmware update isn't permenant it's stored on the memory card, so if you decide you don't need the extra features simply remove the files.

Main features (from the website):

* Save images in RAW format

* Ability to run "Scripts" to automate the camera

* Live histogram (RGB, blended, luminance and for each RGB channel)

* Zebra mode (blinking highlights and shadows to show over/under exposed areas)

* An "always on" full range Battery indicator

* Ability to turn off automatic dark-frame subtraction

* a higher compression movie mode, and double the maximum video file size

* exposure times as long as 65 seconds

* exposure times as little as 1/10,000 of a second

* ability to use the USB port for a remote trigger input

Additional features:

* a depth-of-field (DOF)-calculator

* File browser

* Text reader

* Calendar

* Some fun tools and games

The only camera...anything, that I've managed to keep over the past 2-3 years. This is the newest, slightly updated version with bigger holes on the bumpers for lugs on cameras like Leicas (and fujis) and a shoulder pad. Handmade in the USA, exceptional quality, with a wonderful patina that truly makes the strap *YOUR* strap.

Photo taken today before she went in. Thought it might be her last one with me.

Cali is home. Disoriented and groggy but eating and drinking. She appears to have lost weight. She is down from 270g and is back to 230g. AS soon as I picked her up she felt back to normal. I know her liver is still big but something has changed. Possibly the weight gain was more of fluid build-up than liver size. Waiting on results. If it's a tumor its possible to give steroids to slow the growth and reduce inflammation to take the liver out of immediate danger. I am inclined to take that option if she continues to do well as she has not been sick with this, apart from the weight she has been bright, active, diet good. If we can eliminate the danger of the liver rupturing then I am happy to see how she goes. As long as she doesnt not appear in pain and is enjoying life we'll see. But this is still all results pending.

The whole procedure and sending of results, (and post op check on friday) would have cost me £364 but my vet capped the costs at £300 for me.

A slight update/revamp in the office.

New speakers, Edifier RT1700BTS, new audio interface, behringer UM2 which has really surprised me how good it is for the money as has my new mic, a BM800.

Other new additions to the office, a Raspberry Pi, 3 Pi 'cluster', the 5,1 Mac Pro is down from the loft running ProxMox with various work and home related VM's, its space in the loft has now been taken up by a Dell R710 setup basically as a NAS.

I also have a 2012 Mac Mini setup as a Plex server now hidden away in the unit on the right. Again for a fairly dated bit of kit, it performs really well.

I've also put some of my fountain pens and cameras out on a new shelf unit that I still need to stain.

The only thing I really want to replace now is the monitors. I want to replace them with a 49".

I may start using the Mac Pro for a daily machine with and push its services to the R710.

Firmware updates aren't my favorite things to do, but you know you just have to do it. Lol ;)

Garden Update 20250504

thanks for the inspiration {Magus}!

well i haven't uploaded or done anything with my flickr for a few days... which ends up feeling like a few weeks. so here's a little, tiny update that only looks good because of the text. summer is taking up my life pretty much, and i love it. i went to the bamboozle roadshow in cleveland on friday, the 18th.... so, so good. i hugged vinny vegas and caleb turman. at warped i'm gonna get a bunch of hugs from people. i hope to have a record. so far i've hugged....

1. derek sanders (mayday parade)

2. eric halvorsen (a rocket to the moon)

3. alexander deleon (the cab)

4. caleb turman (forever the sickest kids)

5. vinny vegas (all time low's merch guyyy.)

6. charles henry (the cab)

off to a good start, i guess. i don't know, i have weird ambitions.

my goal for summer is to hug joel kanitz (this century), and devin & andy oliver (i see stars).

that should be easily accomplished. in other news, i got my paramore ticket (for 20 dollars!)... and i got the miley cyrus album, it's actually really good. i suggest you buy it if you want some jams. at least listen to "stay", it's absolutely beautiful.

oh. and i bought a tripod! my mom and i share it. it's amazing/beautiful/i love it.

i think that's it for updates. wow, alright. comment me with songs to listen to. i like acoustic pretty songs. thank you :) ♥

Updated Em's city bike. Swapped on 42mm Hetres, larger AL fenders, bars, stem, post, levers, shifters, rear rack.

This weekend I was able to participate if my first Truck Trial race. I know, I'm about 20 years late to the LEGO craze. It was great fun. I brought a little truck that I'll share soon, and brought back an updated version of the Mack Marble. It was great fun!

Updated the cockpit, but I have a few ideas to make it better that I wont divulge yet. !)

EDIT: Pugwash25, here it is with the hoses! Thanks for the idea. :3

EDIT: Added dark red, and lengthened it a bit.
