This project shows how Sam upcycled an ergonomic sitting desk into a standing desk with a few extra fittings and some pipe.
I was at the Braw Wee Fair in Glasgow's Barras Market and run in to a big guy I met while I worked at the Commonwealth Games. His full time job is now taking reclaimed materials meant for landfill and turning them into awesome hand-worked pieces of useful furniture and ornaments.
Gideon's class craft for the school fundraiser: We had the kids make bugs out of recycled materials then we tagged and mounted them.
They gave their bugs names which we translated into Latin and they listed where they "found" them.

I have recently fallen in love with upcycling shoes I find at thrift stores. I find scuffed up but wearable shoes and change them using my imagination to make them into works of art

Artist Jennifer Strunge gives new life to secondhand fabrics by recycling them into extraordinary creations called "Cotton Monsters". Most of Jennifer creations are constructed using clean thrifted clothing as well as sheets and fabric remnants. Each little monster is handmade one at a time, on a Bernina sewing machine, stuffed with brand new super-soft polyester fiberfill and finished with hand-stitching, all in Jennifer tiny attic home studio.
We love the look of these colored monsters and you should visit Jennifer website as there are hundreds of cute little monsters! Also, some are available for purchase on ETSY Cotton Monster Shop.
More information: Cotton Monster website and available at ETSY Cotton Monster Shop!
This is an old computer disc that I have upcycled into a sun catcher. CD's are great for that because of their reflective finishes.
Along with the cherry blossom design I am adding little charms here and there, bees, butterflies, and flowers all in antiqued brass to match the hardware on the box and the bird topper.
before and after /// old alcohol bottles transformed into vases with wool or a marker (for the pink one)

Our sandals are designed inside Artefizio lab. The handcrafted/traditional technique is revolutionized by the introduction of materials, which re-thought, gain new life. Bicycle tire, inner tubes, leather wastes, jeans, tissues coming from old sample cases, safety belts and cork.
All our products are unique pieces, a characteristic that makes them not subordinate to the trends of the moment, thanks to their non-repeatability. Our slippers and sandals are fit for a daily use and they connect ourselves with the environment, in addition they are elegant and comfortable.
MATERIALS: made with recycled tire, jeans, tube and cork!
This object has been realized inside the Artefizio lab, this makes it a Made in Italy unique piece.

I made this braided mat using an assortment of black and oxford gray jeans and pants that we were not wearing anymore (didn't fit, too old, torn somewhere, etc.)
I cut them into strips, atached the strips to one another with hand stitching and braided them. Handstitched in circular shape.
Red stitching details here and there to add a little bit of color.
