Frame size: 815mm x 650mm
Original gouache painting of a view over the Bay of Naples, with a female figure in the foreground. I would say this is a very fine example of this type of painting.
One of a pair bought for £1 by my paternal grandmother at the sale of contents of Longworth Manor in December 1926.
Provenance: Original Sale Catalogue, in which the pictures were listed as "A pair of coloured prints" (Catalogue not included in sale, although I would make a copy if desired). The painting has been re-framed: once out of its fame, it is obviously an original.
Recluse are a three piece rock band from South Wales. Formed in July '2008 there sound has been described as 'Queens of the Stone Age getting molested by Smashing Pumpkins' and 'Early Nirvana kissing Kyuss whilst secretly thinking about Pearl Jam'.
Made for Unsigned Revolution, a site that promotes unsigned bands around the world. It's pretty kickass, and hopefully I'll get to do some more stuff for it.
This was definitely a show to remember. I was working for another photographer called Andrew Benge. Every year this competition is held with millions of viewers and some absolutely fantastic and talented people perform. The evening was fast paced and i heard some really incredible new music. Really enjoyed this job.
