Went with some friends on an overcast Sunday afternoon to the small, eastern shore town of Ka'a'awa, Hawaii for this little hike up Crouching Lion above the Crouching Lion Inn. The wind that day was absolutely insane!
Learned about it from Unreal Hawaii (www.unrealhawaii.com)
Starburst anemone (anthopleura sola)
I took so many shots of this one anemone because the coloring looked so unreal. The sunlight had just come over the bluff and tentacles just glowed on it. I really liked the pairing of the ethereal tentacles and the grainy hardness of the coraline algae.

Scavenger Challenge - October 2017 Assignment - Unreal Animals
This month, we're going to explore the world of "unreal animals," i.e., representations of critters of all sorts. This could include stuffies, carvings, ceramics with the stipulation that they must be three-dimensional items (in other words, no pictures of images). Keep presentation in mind, using other props to supply visual interest (similar to creating a still life).
Requirements are as follows:
1) At least one bird
2) At least one marine creature (octopus, fish, whale, etc.)
3) At least one mythical creature (dragon, unicorn, Sasquatch, etc.)
4) At least one image with two or more critters in it
5) At least one dinosaur
As usual, your collage should include 9-16 images, and you may use an image to fulfill more than one requirement.
Well that's me done for another month. I found this month a little hard - had to search high and low for my subjects. I don't have the room to carry a lot of things so I was grateful to my grandson
and his toy box.
