The City of London from Tower Bridge
The river’s tent is broken: the last fingers of leaf
Clutch and sink into the wet bank. The wind
Crosses the brown land, unheard. The nymphs are departed.
Sweet Thames, run softly, till I end my song.
The river bears no empty bottles, sandwich papers,
Silk handkerchiefs, cardboard boxes, cigarette ends
Or other testimony of summer nights. The nymphs are departed.
And their friends, the loitering heirs of city directors;
Departed, have left no addresses.
By the waters of Leman I sat down and wept…
Sweet Thames, run softly till I end my song,
Sweet Thames, run softly, for I speak not loud or long.
But at my back in a cold blast I hear
The rattle of the bones, and chuckle spread from ear to ear.

FAKE is the topic for Monday 22nd August 2011
I liked the way the clouds looked with my shades on. They were nice and contrasty and had a lot of texture to them. But the camera just did not see it my way. I used several gradient sweeps and some sliding to make it work. Those clouds were unreal. So that makes them Fake-ish.

Update Apr09. This perspective unfortunately no longer exists due to development :-(
Unreal City,
Under the brown fog of a winter dawn,
A crowd flowed over London Bridge, so many,
I had not thought death had undone so many.
Sighs, short and infrequent, were exhaled,
And each man fixed his eyes before his feet.
Flowed up the hill and down King William Street,
To where Saint Mary Woolnoth kept the hours
With a dead sound on the final stroke of nine.
There I saw one I knew, and stopped him, crying 'Stetson!
'You who were with me in the ships at Mylae!
'That corpse you planted last year in your garden,
'Has it begun to sprout? Will it bloom this year?
TS Elliot
A Lanzarote, ogni tanto, ho avuto visioni della realtà così geometriche, essenziali e pittoresche, da farmi venire i dubbi se per caso le avevo viste davvero o no.
Per fortuna, le fotografie mi aiutano a ricordare.
Buona serata

Have you ever been to a place on earth that you were in complete awe that it existed?
This was that moment for me! While in New Zealand I went on a hike that started by the ocean and followed this stream of water up these small cliffs, and along the way I would see baby seals trying to make their way up the cliffs from the stream of water that was flowing down to the ocean. After about 15 minutes of doing this I got to the end, where a pool of water was with a waterfall flowing into it. Also in the pool of water were dozens upon dozens of baby seals just swimming and playing and relaxing. Amazing!!! I was told that the baby seals would climb/crawl up from the ocean to this area because it was a safe haven for them from the sharks that were in the ocean below. I was blown away, New Zealand is a magical place and I plan on making it back someday for an extended period and I think you all should to. have a great day!
The 2 Starbucks in the Rio were SLAMMED lask weekend. The line was ridiculously long. It was like this all day, even at night when NO ONE should be drinking coffee! I NEED MY COFFEE!!! WHY must I wait for 30min! BAH!
Everyone there was a drinker... either coffee or booze. I've never seen so much drinking! Like I said it's a really relaxed atmosphere.
Literally unreal. Take a look at the original sunset image in the comment box below.
This is a composite that I put together for Make It Interesting, Challenge #4 - Sunset
