Embark - Unleashed Challenges - Up Ups.

I did a post looking for pups and their owners that would be able to help me with the Up Ups Challenge!

And, sure enough this lovely Kelpie named Zuri (can you believe that?) answered and we made plans to meet up in the Village one afternoon.

Zuri is a competitive athlete and is interested in challenges, which this was not an issue for her to pull off - what a star this gorgeous girl is!!!

It’s not often you see a pack of Jaguars travelling together. Solitary, independent and swift, these animals prefer to hunt alone, journeying

through the open spaces with a self-assuredness that is unmistakable.

But, today is different. 17 F-TYPES are waiting, with an unflinching combination of cunning patience and

fierce desire, an instinct they are each created with. Or perhaps, an instinct inherited from their daring ancestors?

Once unleashed, these F-TYPES will follow their intuition to sprint along the wide open road and head east.

Their target: The legendary Mille Miglia race in Italy.

I watched as the Lamb opened the first of the seven seals. Then I heard one of the four living creatures say in a voice like thunder, "Come!" I looked, and there before me was a white horse! Its rider held a bow, and he was given a crown, and he rode out as a conqueror bent on conquest.

... this apocalyptic storm system just literally built out of nowhere and continued to grow with updrafts and clouds going one way and another. then the thunder and lightning and intense wind... at which point i said to the friend i was visiting, we might have to run in a few seconds....

yet nothing came of it... just blew past. in fact, nothing on radar either.

not sure who conjured this voodoo up but it was pretty darn impressive.

The Second Spirit is a Duchess and is called Agaresina or Agaresi, otherwise known as Agares and Agreas. She is under the Power of the East over which the Red ‘Fire-Star’ to burn for she is of half Slavic and Mongolian Chinngis Khan descent and appears as a most ravishingly attractive, though stern, young Russian woman dressed as a Tank commander. One will perceive a Goshawk perched upon her wrist, which to symbolise her Power of Remote-Viewing whereupon she can find any who to runaway for she can look over the whole world as well as to know all Languages and tongues to Teach. At her feet will be a creature of the amphibious species Crocodylidae, which symbolises her ability to speed up and to slow down Time whence to make those to Run, to Standstill, those who Standstill, to Run, for the experience of Time is very much entwined with ones Reptilian Brain-stem.

She drives around within a converted WWII Russian T34 tank or alternatively that of an American M1A1/2 Abrams main battle tank patronised by burger king McDonald's, which she has captured to paint Red for Agaresina has Siberian Oil under her Fire-Star of Ares leash to verily name the Heavy-Metal Beast as her hungry T-34 Crocodile making the Earth to shake causing Earthquakes. She has the power to destroy dignities both Spiritual and Temporal if her Master so desires it whence she to unleash her Soviet Zombie Army to tear apart the psyches of her Masters Enemies via the Astral plane; or that of initiating a Geophysical Tunguska Event Big-Bang to strike them down. Her sexual style is very much upfront of most Salacious Succubus within those Erotic Dreams she to instigate after evoking her. She Governs over 31 Legions of Kamasutra Rusalka Female Spirits like her self whom are highly versed in the Martial Art of 'Systema' who have a liking for offerings of Russian Cigarettes and Vodka given unto them.

THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS TO SEER RED CHESS ARMY ON THE MOVE ACROSS BOARD

One can imaginatively associate 'Agaresina' with a 'Red-Army-Chess piece' under 'Red Queen' whom was featured in Lewis Carroll's Alice adventure, 'Through The Looking Glass' and when to have first penned it the world was verily changing at a rapid pace around him.

n the 1800s, the rise of urban industrialization triggered the proliferation of Utopian projects (Agricultural Communes) in reaction, all of which failed. Utopia became the project of creating an ideal society apart from the demoralizing city. These Utopian projects were especially popular in Britain, France, and New England. The Utopian celebration of common property and dependence upon extensive state planning were the groundwork for the political forces of both Communism and Socialism as presented in the written work of the Communist Manifesto.

The Bolshevik 'Red' Army (Russian: Workers’-Peasants’ Red Army) began the takeover of government buildings on 24 October; however 25 October (JC) was the date when the Winter Palace (the seat of the Provisional government located in Petrograd, then capital of Russia), was captured. The "Red" of Army was officially referred to the blood of the Working Class in their Communist struggle against Capitalism, and to the belief that all are equal just as the founder of Christianity once said whom Reverend Lewis Carroll to have known well to perceive ‘Through the Looking Glass’ darkly that all are as 'Chess Pieces' across Chessboard of the greater scheme of things yet to come, playing out their individual parts, but it be the 'Queens Red and White' who can go where they will while 'Alice' pointed towards the Future Past!

Something Out of Nothing

Organization: No Longer Empty

Location:Invisible Dog Art Center

51 Bergen Street, Brooklyn

October 3 - Nov 14, 2009

Beware: “The Invisible Dog“ is unleashed this Saturday, October 3rd! The latest group exhibition produced by No Longer Empty, “The Dog” is a show “out of nothing” in a warmly decrepit out-of-use belt factory on Bergen Street in Brooklyn.

Following the tails of the Improv Everywhere stunt last week, the show presents a multitude of site-specific works reflecting both the history of the space and the profound beauty of the Invisible Dog. A rift on the 70’s gag, it’s a void object waiting for creative minds and hands to bring it to life.

Here in the factory, artists grabbed the many trimmings, reels of fabric, leather and other materials and transformed them into something new. The artist duo Steven and William created a “chandelier” of abandoned belt buckles. Guerra del la Paz amassed tons of discarded clothing, one color at a time. Here, la Paz’s “trashy” tribute becomes an imposing, yurt-shaped spectral prism. In the neighborhood spirit, Tom Sanford brings Jonathan Lethem’s novel “Motherless Brooklyn”-- which takes place on this block, to life via a fantastic, larger than life mural. Even the freight elevator is transformed: here, Giuseppe Stampone takes us on a trip from Hell to Heaven al Dante.

The Invisible Dog, a new three-story art center in Cobble Hill, Brooklyn, is an exuberant example of the integration of forward thinking and care for the past. The art center, admittedly, had a leg up: its home came equipped with an irresistable history. Built in the late nineteenth century, the 20,000 square-foot factory went through a number of industrial incarnations before its owners struck gold in the 1970s with the invisible dog trick: a stiff lease and collar surrounding the empty space where a dog would be. A mixture of party-hearty silliness and tongue-in-cheek trompe l’oeil, the trick became an icon of its era. But eventually public taste moved on; meanwhile, over the years, the Brooklyn neighborhood was changing. The factory closed its doors in the late 1990s; the boarded-up building was a blight on its quiet Brooklyn block.

What happened then is a kind of urban fairytale. In December 2008, Muriel Guépin leased the storefront and turned it into Shop Art Gallery, a small gallery with decidedly democratic spirit. Soon after, Lucien Zayan, a recent New York immigrant, stumbled upon Shop Art and inquired after the building behind it. Zayan knew he had hit on something when he heard the building’s history: he’d spent his life working in the French theater, including the Aix-en-Provence festival and Paris’s renowned Théàtre de Odeon and Théàtre de la Madeleine, and he recognized the perfect mise-en-scène. With the support of the building’s current owners, he decided to turn the space into a large-scale art center.

Less than a year later, the Invisible Dog is up and running. The building has been restored for safety and cleaned, but otherwise preserved intact. The rawness of the unfinished space is integral to the Invisible Dog’s identity: Zayan wanted a place that artists could really use, not a pristine renovation without personality. The ceiling on the third floor was restored using floor boards found in other parts of the building, and the enormous elevator shaft (the elevator removed) will be left open, as a unique exhibition space. Everywhere, the commitment to collaboration and community is clear. The ground floor, with its 14-foot ceilings, will be used for public events, performances, educational programs, and exhibitions, organized by guest curators from around the world. The second floor, divided into studios, is already occupied by nine specially-selected artists on one-year leases. They meet regularly with Zayan to discuss their work and the project. The third floor, light-filled and spacious designed by Anne Attal, will be available for flexible rental by the general public.

Olympic Park two years after the games on a warm sunny autmn day.

You may have suspected after seeing my last upload that I am about to unleash some Olympic developments. I would try to focus my attention towards some of the ‘legacy’ aspects which were a promised to us by the organizers.

Considering the run-down polluted site and the general conditions which previously existed in this part of London, improvements would never have been difficult to achieve but my first impressions of the area far exceeded my expectations. Unfortunately the unending commercial developments would continue to dominate the whole of this area, a fact I am certain we would have to accept as an inevitable outcome of our existing social and political structure and the forces driving it.

I saw the Olympic Park on a late October evening and a warm sunny autumn day. My modest camera and lack of tripod may be disappointing to most of you who are so good at technical aspects of photography. However, I hope that this series when seen against the photos I took earlier during construction would give you a flavour of the outcome and promises.

This massive hanger is apparently large enough that it creates it own weather conditions inside. It was used to store blimps and later helichoppers.
