Hyde Park Unity Day is a community celebration that takes place each summer in Hyde Park (since 1996).
Unity Day was established by local residents who wanted to try and regain a more positive image of the community after riots in 1995.
Each year Unity Day sources over 100 bands, musicians, artists and community groups, all from right here in LS6 to celebrate the talent and diversity that makes up our community.

One of the attractions on Amnesty International's stall at Unity Day was "Splat the Cat". For the princely sum of 50p you got to throw three wet sponges at your target.
I took a few shots of this and was unable to capture a moment of impact, but I think I prefer seeing the wet sponge fly past and her face all screwed up like this.
