FORT INDIANTOWN GAP, PA - Employees from the Pennsylvania National Guard and Pennsylvania Department of Military and Veterans Affairs gathered for Unity Day, an annual celebration of diversity, Sep. 12, 2018. Remarks on diversity and inclusion were presented by Brig. Gen. David Wood. I ran the face painting stall with 2 ladies from Leeds Older Active People. I trained them in how to face paint, then together with them we painted about 80 faces on the day!
Hyde Park Unity Day is a community celebration that takes place each summer in Hyde Park (since 1996).
Unity Day was established by local residents who wanted to try and regain a more positive image of the community after riots in 1995.
Each year Unity Day sources over 100 bands, musicians, artists and community groups, all from right here in LS6 to celebrate the talent and diversity that makes up our community.
