I found this blossom to be intriguing, given the two petals that have apparently curved up and together. The macro lens opens up a whole new world of exploration and creative practice.

This represents something unique because it is a different way to see. The compositional techniques I used were rule of thirds and perspective, which I think were effective because if this was off to the side, the viewer wouldn't look directly through the star. This does display technical proficiency because it is in focus but the exposure was a little dark and I had to touch it up a little bit.
A guy at Starbucks made this for my friend on her brithday, probably the coolest thing I have seen with money!
Just one of the many highlights from a 3 day stay on Skomer Island off Pembrokeshire, this is a Skomer Vole, unique to Skomer and a sub species of Bank Voles, it is bigger than a Bank Vole and is tame in the hand. It was trapped and released as part of the Vole survey.
Unique, rather ominous-looking clouds over the city today. Looks like mammatus cloud formations in a way. I saw these clouds while cleaning the front yard garden... Is rain on the way? Pics taken from San Jose, CA. (Tuesday late afternoon, April 11, 2017)

Another low pressure trough and frontal system was moving across Northern California this day. This system had brought light rain and gusty south winds to NorCal. Then Wednesday and Thursday, a stronger low pressure trough was to move through the region with light to moderate rainfall and more gusty south winds. The precipitation was to turn to showers by Thursday night and end by midday Friday... It may be springtime, but looks like winter was still hanging on!
This shop/museum models itself as the inspiration for Diagon Alley for the Harry Potter books. If you really like Harry Potter, I would recommend it for the memorabilia. However, expect it to be crowded.
