Having a bit of Monday morning mischief with subject-setting group, Macro Mondays. This week's delicious task: "Fill-the-Frame with Food." So I've served up an unhealthy helping of diet-busting potato chips. HMM ... :-))

The creation of the waterfall dates back to 271 BC, is a formidable work of Roman engineering that served to encourage the outflow of the waters of the Velino, responsible for frequent and disastrous floods and the transformation of vast expanses of land into unhealthy swamps.
Among the highest in Europe, it develops on a total height difference of 165 m, divided into three jumps, inserted in a large natural park. The name derives from the calcium carbonate salts present on the rocks which are similar to white marble.

In the 13th century Nederhorst must have been a simple water tower (keep) on a bump of sand (a horst) in a swampy area. Near this defense work, on the same horst, a wooden chapel had been built much earlier around the year 800.
The donjon was centrally located in a wide meander of the Vecht and had a more or less strategic location on the edge of the Utrecht foundation, bordering the county of Holland. At the time, such structures were usually not intended for permanent residence, but were purely defensive structures; sometimes they were also used to preserve the harvest. As with many other donjons, a residential wing was added later, after which the complex could develop into a castle.
Nederhorst has been on the list of recognized knight cities of the glory of Utrecht since 1536. To qualify as a knight's yard, the building had to be surrounded by a moat, a drawbridge and outbuildings. The castle lord also had to show a certain wealth.
The owner had various privileges, such as a seat in the Ridderorde and thus in the States of Utrecht and some tax exemptions. The seat in the States of Utrecht gave the person concerned access to official functions in the region and in The Hague. On the other hand, a knight had no right to act or act. Anyway, the possession of a knight's court city gave the owner power and prestige.
Godard van Tuyll van Serooskerken radically modernized the house around 1700. The house took on the character of a country estate. In the winter, the elite lived in the city, but in the summer people moved with all their possessions to their country estates. Away from the smelly canals, away from the unhealthy city to the pleasure gardens outside by ship. There they received guests, lingered in the meticulously landscaped gardens, conversed, played music, marveled in the Wunderkammer or went hunting. It was important to impress the guests by an imposing house in the middle of beautiful gardens.

The Bridge of Sighs.
From the splendor of council halls, you plunge into the dungeons.
Where CASANOVA conceived and planned her daring escape, cells were unhealthy.
It has this name because of the sighs of the prisoners, who took one last look at freedom before torture or execution. So says the legend.

day quatro;
and i'm still keeping up with this 365 on flickr! haha, if it wasn't for flickr i'd be asleep by now.
well anyway, today was AMAZING. since it was a beautiful (but cold) day i did bring my camera into the stadium. and it just so happened tim tebow happens to be the subject of the majority of the 1,000 or so pictures i took. bahaha. anywho, this picture completely MADE MY DAY. i was taking a picture of timmy, and then he turned around and i think he saw me taking a picture case he smiled at me (: (: (: (: i was screaming on the inside.
and yes, i do realize my rather unhealthy obsession with timmy has inclined to stalker-ism. LIKE I CARE!
mauahah. anywho, i'll upload more pictures tomorrow. i just wanted to get a few up.
have as much fun staring at my future husband as i do (:
Looking a little unhealthy to say the least is 97303 starting up for the fourth attempt after sitting dormant here for 4 days straight in sub-zero temperatures. It is getting ready to work the 3Z33 to Manchester Oxford Rd, having had it's trip to Leeds cancelled the previous night.

I'm well aware that many a photographer is now cringing at my unhealthy propensity to shoot into the sun and my camera lens can't be too happy about it either but I swear I'm trying to shake it off :-)))))))

Dear Flickr Friends,
It has been quite a while since I have been active here.
It has been an eventful year so far, with numerous health issues and hospitalizations, as well as a cruise to Norway squeezed in.
I won't be very active yet on Flickr, as I am still battling health problems, but I will manage to participate now and then.
In the meanwhile, here are some pictures of Mt. Rainier taken last summer, as this summer has been very hot and dry and we have had weeks and weeks of smoky skies and unhealthy air from all the wildfires burning all around our area. There have not been many days with clear skies.

Thank you all so much for your views, faves and comments.
I appreciate each one!

We nature lovers walk a fine line.
We want to get up close, but we know it's wrong, unsafe, unnatural and unhealthy for wildlife to be too comfortable around humans. I don't want squirrels to jump in my lap begging for peanuts. But I want to be close enough with my cheap glass to get good shots. This little lady sat for me as if she knew that I just wanted a few pictures. I did not want or need more than a few seconds. I felt like she was looking right at me,into my heart, graciously acknowledging my love and respect. Thank you my love. I hope to see you again soon. Take good care.

A moody day looking at North Cascade National Park's Diablo Lake. For some reason there weren't many folks here, enjoying the light rain. The silence was delightfully deafening.
Seems we photographers can no longer head out in July or August for good landscape shots in the Pacific NW. The air is unhealthy and smothers the scenic views with all the continual, chronic summer wildfires. For those who love experiencing nature's gifts this is heartbreaking.
Speaking of silence, that's how this planetary crisis is being addressed by those in power. Regardless of your take on climate change the facts and damage are undeniably right in front of us. It is agonizing witnessing this tragedy grow worse with each year.......We photographers get it, may the rest wake up and address it soon.
Stepping off my soapbox now. Enjoy your Wednesday!
Your comments, faves and suggestions are always appreciated. Thank you!
forest fires from the North have filled the skies again with "Moderate" air quality (unhealthy air quality for sensitive groups)
Anyone who has followed me for more than a few years knew that I had an obsession with the elevator in Morrice, some maybe calling it unhealthy. After it was finally torn down a couple years ago, there really wasn't much reason to visit Morrice, until I started snooping around the other elevator in town that is far less appealing structurally, but has plenty of other things to work with. After discovering the WC was leading an overnight A491, I did my sleep deprivation routine and ventured out into the muggy night and began setting up. Just a few minutes before 5am, A491 comes flying through the small farming town alerting everyone to its presence, and me alerting them to mine with some speedlights.
These were the areas of Maremma in the early nineteenth century. Terrible and unhealthy places as this famous popular song says:
Bitter Maremma
Everybody tells me Maremma, Maremma, but to me it seems a bitter Maremma. The bird that goes there looses its feather, I’ve lost a dear person there. Cursed be Maremma MaremmaCursed be Maremma and those who love it. Every time you go there my heart trembles because I worry that you will never come back. Cursed be Maremma Maremma. Cursed be Maremma and those who love it.
Earlier today I reached 100,000 views on this account. I wanted to take this moment to thank all the people that have added me as a contact, made a photo I've taken a favorite, or left a comment (positive or negative).
I started documenting the bay area graffiti almost 3 years ago and feel like I have come a long way with my photo taking skills. At this point graffiti photography is less of a hobby and more of an unhealthy obsession that consumes me and all my free time.
Thanks to all the writers who constantly bomb the bay and give me something to do with my free time.
Extra special thanks to my homie and photo partner in crime Everydaydude for always being down for adventures and making sure I don't die falling off roofs.
Tomales Bay, the mist is sadly smoke from our local fires on Point Reyes. For those not local, for weeks now, everywhere outdoors smells like you're standing beside a campfire, which in itself is not unpleasant, but it's everywhere, relentless and of course unhealthy. I haven't yet got a chance to see the damage on Point Reyes as the roads are still closed.
Sometimes Jasper just has to throw his paws up in frustration. He thinks humans have an unhealthy obsession with time. "It's not time for dinner!" "You just had a treat. It's not time for another one yet" "It's not time to get up." Time, time, time! Forget time humans! Let your bodies guide you!

At the time, the East End of Glasgow was one of the most unhealthy and overcrowded parts of the city, and the People's Palace was intended to provide a cultural centre for the people. It was designed by the City Engineer, Alexander B. McDonald. At the opening ceremony Lord Rosebery stated: "A palace of pleasure and imagination around which the people may place their affections and which may give them a home on which their memory may rest". He declared the building "Open to the people for ever and ever"

Autumn, especially in poetry, has often been associated with melancholia. The possibilities and opportunities of summer are gone, and the chill of winter is on the horizon. Skies turn grey, the amount of usable daylight drops rapidly, and many people turn inward, both physically and mentally. It has been referred to as an unhealthy season. But for a photographer is a dream!

Do you know that your thoughts can influence not only other people and yourself, but food too.
If I want to give myself a treat I always have good thoughts towards myself, my body and mind and very importantly; the treat I am going to enjoy.
If you think thoughts like "I shouldn't eat this, its not healthy, I'm going to regret it afterwards", all your energy falls negatively and influence everything, even your food.
Being aware when you eat, not putting your head in your phone, newspaper, book, computer, but actually being there in every bite, does that you taste the flavors in a different way.
And it even is healthy in another way because you become aware of when you are full. And then you ought to stop.
And you will feel content.
Because you listened to yourself, your intuition.
That is why we have one, we should listen to it more.
I think that is the way to go.
Love you all♥, including myself 😁
Your truly, always, FlickrGrandma x
Smoke continues to pour off of the slopes of West Mountain at dusk as the Rock Fire continues its wildfire blaze in Valley County, Idaho. The smoke has been lingering in the valley and warnings of unhealthy air quality have been issued.

Shot on August 22, this photo shows the unhealthy smoke pouring down the West Mountain slope onto the water and into the air above Lake Cascade in western Idaho.. It completely obscured the slopes in the distance. Meanwhile, normal drainage for irrigation continued to lower the water level of this 30 mile long reservoir. Just a week after this picture was taken, this dock was laying on ground.

Forests in the west are dying off at an alarming rate, and if you look closely, you can see the orange color of some of these trees. The tell-tale signs of an unhealthy forest. This is directly due to climate change and the heating of the earth. The pine beetle, which has always been with us has been kept under control through nature--very cold winters. Extreme cold kills off enough beetles to keep the death of pine trees in check, but not anymore! Now, it's not uncommon to see whole sides of mountains filled with pines, dead!

There have been several moments recently I wish I could get back to a time when I hadn't been taking photographs for so long, a more innocent time when I didn't worry about developing an artistic vision and other such pretentious rubbish and photography was just fun and not much else. It seems now it fills just about my entire day with thoughts different locations, weather maps, sunrise/sunset times so much so I usually end up crippled by indecision and get nowhere. On Sunday morning just gone I did get somewhere even if it was the very short journey to Chemical Beach. It didn't look particularly promising at first but some nice cloud came along and it turned out to be a really good morning, fun you could say. Unfortunately the clock can't be turned back and I'm sure I'll soon be back to unhealthy levels introspection and indecision.
Winter solstice I had to do something, I usually do. My bag was prepared but I went to bed with no idea what to do. That’s a lie I knew I was going to the coast with my canon, the two C’s I’ve been sadly neglected of late. With no real idea I would probably stay local and with that I read couple of pages of the Lord of the rings and went to sleep. LOR, it’s a Christmas thing. Many moons ago I used to read LOR every Christmas period, well start in November and trickle through it and probably finish in February. I did this for many years and then I stopped, so just for giggles I decided to reprise the old custom this year, with one variation, not my old battered paperback which I’ve owned since the 70’s, which has got more battered with my children and lost I think. So I’m reading it on a kindle but it’s still the same words which are brilliant. LOR is a real story with a solid history and background, not your fly by night fantasy made up as you go along with an unhealthy lumps of plagiarism, JKR! But hey she’s probably made much more money than Tolkien so I shouldn’t knock it. Anyway back on Subject, I wake at 5:00am for the loo and an idea to go up to the Northumberland coast and visit a place close to where I spent the summer solstice this year. So a quick look at the angle of the sunrise and where to park I get out of bed and set off to Warkworth. Here is a quick photograph of my very enjoyable morning wandering the coast between Wark.worth and Alnmouth.
Warriston Cemetery, which opened in 1843, was the first of Edinburgh's cemeteries designed in the 'garden style' by the architect David Cousin (1809-1878).
Cousin became a specialist in the design of cemeteries in the 1840s; he also designed the Dean (1845), Dalry (1846), Rosebank (1846) and Newington (1848) cemeteries.
Before Warriston opened Edinburgh's cemeteries and graveyards were overcrowded, unhealthy and dangerous places.
Body snatching had been commonplace until the Anatomy Act of 1832 and there were serious outbreaks of cholera in Edinburgh in the early 1830s and even as late as 1849.
The location of Warriston Cemetery on the outskirts of Edinburgh away from the city was significant therefore.
The inspiration for Warriston came from London's garden cemeteries of Kensal Green (1831), Norwood (1837) and Highgate (1839) which themselves had been influenced by European cemeteries such as Pere Lachaise in Paris.
Notable people buried at Warriston include Sir James Young Simpson, pioneer on the use of anaesthesia and the artists Horatio McCulloch and Robert Scott Lauder.
Life can be so hectic from time to time that you nearly forget to breathe properly
When life bites you in your butt you need some hideouts where you can land again
Being stressed out is unhealthy for your body and mind
We all have different ways to apporach this, and if you don't think you have a way it's smart to think a bit and wonder
"Where do I find my inner peace"
If the guys in this boat didn't find it I at least found it just by being in the moment
So this is am image of my peaceful self

Welcome back, it says. I wasn't wandering for some time, unhealthy it is. I always feel like something is missing, until I make my way to nature, to some part of the world, where no city is and where nobody is and where winds sing and where birds sing. It is always good to be back.
For macro Monday. Red onion. Grape tomatoes (red and orange) and some Lebanese cucumber. Size of shot 3 inches x 2.5 inches.
No, they aren’t jelly beans! Too unhealthy.
